I guess if you consider the "official" start date of the North Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1st, this system (Bret) falls w/in the time frame. True it (Bret) hasn't developed into a hurricane (yet) but it's unusual to see one develop off the Cape Verde Islands this early in the hurricane season.

Hi everyone.

Was a nice day here. Rain this morning but a nice temp all day. And of course I need to get the truck into the back yard.

Went to a friend's yesterday to get his equipment trailer. I have some mowers to move around. Also I'm taking him the mower I bought from him for some warranty work. He has the trailer but nothing to tow it with. I said, boy, you really need a pickup truck. He agrees. Love this guy. I worked with him years ago, then he went to training. He goes all over the world teaching different outfits the 767. This is the most I've seen him in years. When I was at his house, it was the first time since helping him move in. I said, how long have you lived here now? He said, 14 years. Holy Fudge. That's the last time I saw his wife. He has a great family I wish we were still close.

So I'm off all week. And of course a chance of rain every day. Well, I hope I can get something done. I haven't been feeling the best so Mom has the Vaporizer going, which is supposed to help me breathe, but it's so strong I can't hardly breathe. She loves that stuff. When I brought the Saturn home from her house years ago, it was so strong of Vicks in the car I was about high and off my rocker by the time I got home. I'd say it took better than a year to get that smell out. No wonder I haven't been sick in years.

Okay gonna go watch the rodeo for a little while. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Well it’s been a nice spring so far but that’s gonna change really soon.

Went over to barn this morning and saw this. Terrible place to lay eggs, right in front of doors. Buddy had a fit. I had him on chain but he barked so much I put him in barn. Then Mrs. Turtle got up and left. Looks like she was interrupted B4 she laid any.

Prolly about 10" in Dia.

Greg - What a coincidence. I let the dogs out yesterday morning and Monty immediately started barking, which he never does unless something unusual is going on. Went out to the back yard and this guy/gal was in the middle of the yard. Monty was staying about 3-feet away, but circling it barking his head off. Put the Box Turtle on the other side of the fence and all was fine. We see alot of them around here. Probably the 4th or 5th time I've seen one in the yard, but see them quite often crossing roads.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and caught a red eared turtle in the bayou behind the house. I was holding the turtle just in front if its rear legs and that sucker stretched his neck around with his mouth wide open trying to bite me. I was surprised how long its neck was. And how sharp his jaws looked. He was quickly dropped back into the water.

Nah it's the force. There's pain, then there's losing a finger. At least it's not an alligator snapping turtle; those suckers looked like a gator and a snapping turtle were doing it in some spilled ooze from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I suspect they are all married. For some reason that and deafness seem to go together.

I don't know about deafness, but I sure get accused of selective hearing often enough! My wife's a talker, probably why she's such a "people person". What she refuses to realize is that when I'm reading something else, or engrossed in a TV show, etc., I get tunnel vision/focus. Always a bone of contention here, I'm trying to do better but, . . . ???

Hi everyone.

Jamesbo as someone who suffers from hearing loss I sure hope you can cure it. It ain't no fun. Don't worry about Dillard House, we'll toast you.

Went to the Awful house for the first time since I've been off. Then went to my airport and hung out with the neighbors. Did a lot of nothing this afternoon, but it was fine. Then my neighbor the hot rodder helped me retrieve the Suburban from Mom's house. Then he helped me with some stubborn hardware on the Chevy. He likes to talk so we sat around until time to come over for dinner. I bypassed the house and just came over in the Chevy. Tiger misses out tonight, but I'll go home soon to see him. Kind of cool driving that car around.

Mom didn't feel real well today so we skipped going out and I fixed some leftovers. Fine by me. We can go out another time.

Well a good start to another trip around the sun. Although we miss out on the longest day. It's been cloudy and rainy all day. This is the weather we should have on the shortest day.

Okay have a good evening everyone.

Same here. My wife claims I need a hearing aid, but I am around a lot of other people every day and I never have any issues hearing what any of them are saying. I suspect it's a combination of that tunnel vision/focus you mentioned and the fact that she talks to herself a LOT so I don't pay attention, then when she is actually talking to me and I don't respond she thinks it's because I'm deaf.

Sounds like a carbon copy of my situation Kenneth. 🤔 I'm trying to put down my devices in the evening to lessen distractions which I think has helped some. I'm trying, but I'm not one for a whole bunch of idle jibber jabber and unfortunately she is, we're just different in that way.

Well Ocean Gate website is inaccessible. Anything Ocean Gate is basically inaccessible. Listening to some rather detailed reports regarding the submersible 'Titan', reviewing several documents regarding its history and owner Stockton Rush, it appears he's a money mongrel. He & his company refused safety inspections, refused to have the submersible certified, yadda, yadda, yadda. He sounds like a true dirt bag with his head stuck fully up his ****.

Norm - I have been following the situation closely, pretty sad. I don't feel bad for Stockton Rush for sure, but feel for the families of the other passengers. I don't feel so bad for the other passengers themselves, they knew the risk, and should have known everything there is to know about the vehicle. Who in the hell would even think about going down to 12K-feet in a vehicle that doesn't have multiple safety redundancies built in for critical systems??? Just stupid!
