Norm, my brother and I would watch all of the old monster movies when our parents went out on Saturday night, scared, of course not, but we slept with knives under our pillows just in case.

Dan - Good memories. I used to frequent a couple of the slot car race tracks - tons of fun - great times. My Dad was on Omaha Beach Normandy Invasion. He was a freak for all WWII movies and anything on T.V. He loved Vic Marrow and Telly Savalas in Combat. Don't even come close to the T.V. if Combat was on. My list of WWII movies is endless.

Hell yes. That was me scared to death but loved every one of them. My one brother two years younger than me would get scared $hitless. He had terrible nightmares watching them. Mom warned/yelled for me to stop letting him watch them - but, he always wanted to watch them & he did - scared $hitless he was.

One other movie of a more or less different venue was The Time Machine (the original). The movie itself didn't so much scare me, but the Morlocks did frighten me.

Some 45 years later, the Witch visited Mr. Rogers for about 5 seconds; the rest was Margaret Hamilton as herself.

There's also a recently resurfaced withdrawn Sesame Street episode in which the Witch visits.

Ah yes, the Rat Patrol, a favorite. My dad watched all of the WWII movies and cop shows. Damn Morlocks! The Wizard of Oz, a classic, of course, the witch, and the cowardly lion when he made his appearance, and the damned winged monkey's. How did I survive childhood without therapy?

All great shows, I especially liked Dragnet. Another one to add to the list, Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford.

Yep, never watched any other horror movie that sent chills down my spine and raised the hair on the back of my neck as much as that one!

Another really creepy one is Bram Stoker's Dracula, with a great cast of Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, and Wynona Ryder.

Good morning everyone.

Slow going. I guess yesterday when I wasn't here it was slow all day. The overtime has been cut out I'd hate to think this was a protest...

Never was a big fan of horror movies. I haven't even seen the "modern" horror movies. I did see Happy Birthday to Me. That movie was dumb. I saw Poltergeist. Maybe a clip or two of various other ones. I want to be entertained, I'd much rather watch Christine for the umpteenth time.

I looked up the Margaret Hamilton commercial. I don't remember seeing it. Not that I drank a lot of coffee when I was a child. Good thing she didn't spill any on her.

This is going to be a slow day. Eh, it's a short week it will be okay. Taking Mom to the doctor this afternoon, maybe the rest of the week working getting the Chevy out. Ug. That will be a lot of fun with no help.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I may need a little advice this morning.

I'm beginning to re think this K 5 issue

!] The economy is heading into la toilet
2] I often travel with dogs so I doubt I'd ever take the top down
3] I always carry "heat" so the canvas top would be easy to break into
4]The cemetery business is such that If I sit in my office with my feet propped up on the desk. The phone doesn't ring. When I get in my car. It rings. So, I'm a little concerned about talking on the phone and the noise level
5] I would never go "mudding'
6] The prices are at the absolute top

Any advice is welcome

Jamesbo who cares if you aren't going to be driving it 24 hours a day. Don't take it if you have dogs. Don't take it is you're going to talk on the phone. Don't take it to the mall and leave anything in it. If you want one buy one. I will say the prices would be a bit of a deterrent for me, but wait a little while, the prices will come down. Maybe by that time you will find exactly what you want and you can jump on it.

My robot has been broke for about an hour. The plant maintenance guys have been working on it and I think it's better. Not a good way to make the number. Eh, the lead isn't here so there isn't any pressure. This is cool it feels like Monday but it's really Tuesday.

Jim - Here's my 2-cents. I peruse classic car sites quite a bit, just because I love looking at all types of cars and trucks.
- I agree the economy is going downhill, and I believe it's going to get worse before it gets better, how much worse is a tough call. At some point you would think the depressed economy should cause a correction in the current inflated prices seen in the classic car market. However, they obviously aren't making any more of these cars, and because of that I don't think we'll see much of a correction on highly desirable models like the K5's, or any other highly sought after models.

- Don't give up on your desire to have a K5, but I think it would help alot in your search if you would seriously consider other color and trim combinations as long as they are well done. When I was looking for my 4-4-2, it took me over 2-years to find something I was happy with in the price range I wanted to pay. I didn't get the 4-speed I originally wanted, and I would have never originally thought I'd buy a blue car with a black vinyl roof, but there was just something that "popped" for me when I saw the entire color scheme of the car. If you open yourself up to potentially accepting "other" possibilities, I think you'll have much better luck in your search.

- Consider giving those of us like me who peruse the car sites alot an upper limit of what you are willing to pay for a nice (but not pristine) K5?

Chis, I had a maroon one with tan interior a few years back and I hated the color

I'm reminded of a Grace Slick quote, " I'm too old to be a rock star"

Maybe I'm too old for a kids toy

Chris he's trying to recreate a vehicle his friend owned years ago. But I agree, find one that isn't what you want, if it would be feasible to make it what you want. That was the point of the original Blazer anyway. It didn't come with a top, it didn't come with roll up windows. You bought a bare bones truck and the accessorized how you wanted it.

I'll be honest, and don't want to be ignorant, so I'll ask. Is something going on with diesel fuel that I haven't seen in the news???

Never mind replying, I looked it up. We watch news all the time and can't explain why I haven't seen anything about the current diesel shortage on the news, or in my Google feed.

The problem with a lot of collectable cars, is that people are grabbing them, and flipping them for a huge profit. When they show up on the car sites, they tend to be recently purchased, with a quick going over and a price tag to boot. The trick, if possible is to find what you want, and grab it before the flippers get a chance. The downside is trying to monitor the craigs list or FB marketplace ads, etc. and be in a position to get to the location to have a look at the vehicle, and making the commitment to buy on a short notice, lest someone else jumps in. The dealers in Michigan send employee's to car shows around the state, looking for cars to buy and flip.

It takes more patience than I have to deal with some of the on line sellers. I just tried FB messaging a seller and after a few messages, He said " We don't send details until the car is paid for' GOOD BYE Patel

Or look for cars like me, boring Valiants or 4 door 57 Chevy's that people price like a fuel injected convertible. Those cars tend to stay for sale for awhile.

I wondered why diesel was going back up but gasoline wasn't. It's probably 50c higher now than it was last week around me. That's a lot but it was still over 4/gallon so who the hell cares. I haven't seen prices in the grocery store going a lot higher(yet) but I do see lots of empty shelves.

Beautiful evening out. Time changes this weekend.

Good morning everyone.

Slow going this morning. Don't know why. Everyone is here, nothing is broke. Guess people just aren't feeling it. I can see that.

Kenneth the State of Georgia has been gonna put a stop to time change for I don't know how long. Supposedly we're going to adopt Daylight Time and keep it all year long. I think we should change time once a month so it's always light at 9pm.

Big Veterans Day shindig happening tomorrow and Friday in the big hangar. Several warbirds come for a static display, some trucks, lots of military people milling around. It will be cool to see.

Okay lunch is coming up. Hope everyone has a good day.

Wow, it will actually be about 10° warmer here on Thursday and Friday! We are on the seasonal transition roller-coaster right now. I'll take as many +70°-days as I can get!
