I am not happy about next week’s weather.
It’s way too early for this, and hopefully not a sign of what’s to come this summer.

No, he's not. You can't fake the reverence around his tomb. Did you all know his hair was not black and was really light brown? He dyed it to look more pimp. One reason Memphis loved him so much is he shopped for clothes in town, and mainly at places catering to black clientele. There's an article about his fashion tastes and how he thought how black men dressed was more his style.

Mike,
when I went by to see her and take her some grub, she looked pretty good. As usual, she's waiting on more info from the doctor's office as to what comes next

Ahoy

Rain, and a lot of it. No storms, just rain. And cold. Yick.

Saw a lady I know at the Awful house today so sat and talked with her. Saw a couple other guys as well otherwise a fairly quiet morning there.

Greg love the get up. Needs some sequins.

Grocery store today and then painting. Back to working 5 days in a row. Who thought it was fair way back when that we had to work 5 days and then off only 2? I think it was ol' Henry. Not a fan.

Not in a hurry to do anything today. Maybe I'll just go back to bed. Heck I was bored last night so I went to bed at 9. Tiger wanted to go out around 430 and after that I was wide awake. Sheesh. Well, maybe I'll sleep good tonight and be ready for work tomorrow.

Peace

Good morning guys,

It's going to be a beautiful week of weather here if the weatherman has it right. Full sunshine today, with a high of 60, and close to 70 Tuesday and Wednesday. No overnight lows below freezing and no rain in the forecast until next weekend. Very Spring like!

Monty has a wellness visit tomorrow for his annual rabies/distemper shots. My wife has an appointment with the OB/GYN specialist on Wednesday to get the results of her biopsies. Other than those appointments, no other big plans for this week. We really need to get to Sam's Club sometime soon because we usually buy the majority of our meat there and the freezer is almost bare. Maybe Thursday or Friday???

Hope everyone has a great day, and week!

Ya know, I was going to post something, but was distracted (laughing) by Greg's aka "Elvis" pics. Stopped and picked up paczki's that I ordered last week from the bakery. I will be taking them to work tomorrow for my department.

Dan - Haven't had a real paczki in forever, those sound good! I'm sure your co-workers will appreciate them. When I was working, we had a contractor in New Orleans that did work for us and they would send us 3 King Cakes every year on Fat Tuesday, they were good!

King Cakes have definitely gotten crazy expensive these days. Used to buy them from the local grocery store for $7, and now they are $44. Stupid expensive.

For the last 10 years or so I have made my own King Cakes for our Mardi Gras parties. Of course, I also make crawfish etouffee, shrimp jambalaya, seafood loaf, gumbo (sometimes wild duck, sometimes yard bird), red beans, rice, and sausage, Cajun green beans, and we would bring crawfish boudin and alligator sausage back with us at Christmas. Unfortunately, the owners of that establishment retired and closed the business, so now it's jalapeno boudin (smoked and regular).

Wow Kenneth, that's quite the spread, I love all that stuff! We have a new Cajun cuisine place near us, but we haven't tried it yet, folks we know that have say it's good.

Now I gotta go find out what a King cake is. They dropped the mask mandate at work today. Numbers in the state and county have dropped low enough for that to happen.

Aloha

Beautiful day it turned out to be. More in store but for how long is anybody's guess. Next couple anyway.

So I was the star player at work today. I absolutely do not ever want to toot my own horn, but no one said peep about it. Whenever the clowns do even one extra wheel they all make such a big deal about it. Today I went 16 over what I was supposed to. The guy sitting across from me was in inspection on Friday and all his wheels were coming and he couldn't sign them. So I signed more than half of his. Normally what we do is take the number of wheels we need to do in a day and divide by the number of people signing. The lead hates that, he says there is no personal number it's all one number. But when the clowns get to their number they stop. Unless of course they are the ones behind then they cry one number! And moan when others aren't working. I don't ever think that I'm better than anyone, but this makes me better than they are. It's a personal victory actually, and I know that a few days of this and they will start to look bad in front of people who they can't buffalo.

Kenneth that all sounds interesting. Not sure I'd partake but I'm glad you like it. The department I used to be in would put on a Low Country Boil once in a while but the wildest we'd get was shrimp. Good stuff though. I'll bet that isn't a menu seen out your way very often.

Jamesbo must be making more food for his housekeeper.

Well I think I'll hit the sack a little early. I didn't sleep real well last night, I usually don't on Sunday night. Hope I do better tonight.

Peace

Not a hero today. My desk buddy could sign everything and I stopped at my number. Everyone finished up around the same time, which was right after lunch. So we sat around until 2. My feeling is if we have to stay lets keep signing. I can only look at the internet for so long before I'm bored silly.

Beautiful out, and warm. Gonna be this way all week. And I'm doing stuff inside. My Mom will be here in 3 weeks. I need to get as much done as I can; I've been thinking about all the miscellaneous crap she has tucked away in her house that is going to need space.

Norm I read about Bong State Park and boy howdy, did the government put the screws to those people. That's a big park, would be a good place to go camping.

Jamesbo I've been looking for trees that would be a good screen. I don't know anything about trees. A guy I knew planted Lealand Cypress and they looked great. Ten years or more later I drove past and they had all grown out and into each other, and a couple had died. I want to find something evergreen that is tall and won't spread out.

More painting. I made the mistake of filling a few spots with compound and then couldn't find my sander. In the whole big hangar today I couldn't find any sandpaper even. I would have settled for emery. I mean, I know we aren't wood workers but one might think sandpaper would be somewhere. I'm going to try Scotch Brite because I'm not buying another sander.

I don't remember who said it on here about that ship sinking with the cars onboard. They were spot on. The article I read said they thought the lithium batteries might have caused the fire but they don't have any firm evidence that they did. Well, not any more.

Peace

Mike,

I was told Lealand Cypress now have some kind of disease. I wanted something less formal looking so, I'm gonna add a few [3] magnolias to the mix and maybe a few monkey pines to [hopefully] keep it from looking landscaped

Norm,
Don't forget you marshmallows

Norm so Amy asked me back in the day when the Green Bay Packers were in the playoffs and the kids were away... do you think we could do it on all fours and my reply was sure I know you want to watch the game too. What a gal

I wonder who might recall this song. Released in the U.K. it didn't get much airplay in the U.S.A. mostly because of the release of Y.M.C.A. by the Village People during the same time frame. I didn't care much for the Village People, so I'd sing this song instead.
Today, I will use it as my golf Theme Song. Tee-time 8:30am.

I just love the way Georgia Power work crews conduct them selves

After getting a skid steer stuck in the mud in a power line behind my house, They drove not one not two but three trucks and a skid steer across my wet pasture and through my back wire fence. To top things off they left a nice long piece of what used to be my back fence in the cemetery drive so it could get nicely wrapped around my front wheel

So with a family on the way, I look like I just finished my shift at Jiffy Lube

Aloha

Beautiful day. Just when I think they can't get any better, the next day tops it. Rain next Monday.

Jamesbo I'm guessing you've already called and they have come out to fix their mess. Might need another fence strategically placed so they, or anyone, can't do that again.

Norm that guy has some freakishly small arms. Never heard that song. I must have been too busy listening to YMCA. And doing the dance.

Keith that's funny. Did the Amish people name those roads? Too bad about Amy. Why is it the hot ones are always wacked.

So I was at the doctor today for my yearly physical and while I'm waiting for him to come in I see that the boxes of gloves have different cartoon animals and names. I suppose it's for the kids. There was Ollie Owl, Skippy Rabbit, and Tango Fox. I was going to ask the doctor why the fox didn't have some whiskey with him, but decided that wouldn't be a nice question. But it amused me and that's what counts.

Was in bed before 7 last night, might do a replay of that one tonight. Tiger then gets up around 10, and I get 5+ hours of uninterrupted sleep, after the three hours in the beginning.

Peace

Good afternoon guys,

Well, we jumped straight from winter to summer, it's 81° here right now at 1630. Doesn't even seem right?

Didn't have too much of an opportunity to enjoy the weather because my wife had her OB/GYN Specialist appointment during the middle of the day to get the results of her biopsies. There is one area of pre-cancerous cells that will require removal, and a couple of other areas of concern, that while found to be benign, they will go ahead and remove while she is under sedation. Her surgery will probably be scheduled about 3-weeks from now. We are just happy for now that no areas were found to be full blown cancer! Prognosis is very good if they get it all during the surgery.

Hope everyone had a great day!
