I just found about Colin Wickham's death.

How terrible for him to go at such a young age. We have children older than Col, and never give a thought to them dying. My Deborah died at the age of 46 of pancreatic cancer. No one should ever suffer the way Debbie did. When she died, we all said it was a blessing. She lived one year less than her mother, Mary, who died in an auto accident caused by a drunk driver.

I have had enough pain in my life to last a lifetime!

Let's lift a toast to "The Colonel!" He will reign forever!

Almost 70 here in MD. This weekend taking my daughter to longwoods university. She was accepted in Aug and told them she was coming in Jan. The beginning of Feb they asked us If she would like to apply for their Honors Program. I guess all that hard work is paying off. Between her AP classes and dual enrollment at the local college, she will have about 25 college credits when she starts there.
When she went there in Aug. all the kids were asking about parties and etc. She asked about their program about getting a masters in 5 years!
I am a very proud father!

I'm OK! I have not been on the forum for awhile. I'll try to keep up with the going on's more frequently!

Sandy, I just sat and cried... I told my Trophy Wife about Colin's passing and she cried. I used to tell her some of the stuff we used to talk about. He wasn't with us on the forum very long, but a lasting impression he made, indeed! His information and humor are really needed on this forum. Maybe someone will take his place?

Pray for our mates soul.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my wife. Well the weekend should be a hot one 37C today and 38C (100F) tomorrow. The only saving grace is the humidity is around 20%. Looks like Mother Nature has just skipped over springtime. Our hottest month of the year is usually April so I am worried that this will an unusually HOT summer.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Well it's gonna be another beautiful day down ere.

Played golf yesterday [41/ 42] and spent the rest of the day assling round. I come from a long line of sorry white trash and I can do nuthing better than most.

Never did get de garden plowed but I checked it by turning up sum dirt with my foot. [My hands were busy with a cocktail]
and it's dry enough. Maybe today or tomorrow I jes dunno.

I'm gonna play again today with one of my best buds.
He's really good golfer. Went to Q school but didn't make it thru.

He got married fer the first time last summer and we haven't played since. Poor kid didn't listen to my instructions very well.

Dis afternoon Donny [Don442] is gonna check out WTF is wrong wit de drop top. He's decided I was looking at the Toronado wiring diagarm in the Service manual trying to fix a A body. lectical stuff drives me to drink and it's a short trip.

Ausraven. Give me a shout when ya get here. What are your plans In Hotland? Whar ya gonna be stay'in?

Yesterday afternoon was sunny, not quite T-shirt weather but comfortable without a jacket. Since Monday is a Federal holiday I have a long weekend and was looking forwards to making some progress on the car stuff. This morning I get up to find a light snow falling.... I guess I'll have another cup of coffee and re-think my plans The garage is too full of stuff so I'd be working outside on the slab in front of it. Maybe I'll try organizing the clutter inside for a while. John

Good morning guys & gal

Played a round of golf yesterday, didn't do so hot been a whilesince I picked up a stick shot a 98.

Got to fix the motorhome today. Have a throttle problem. Seems I have a air pressure leak in the throttle control system somewhere and its a bugger to trace down. Only can get about 1500 rpm which won't get the automatic out of first gear. Its always something isn't it.

Good news is is a sunny day high of 45. Well I better get started. talk to you all later

Pat, I know that I've been lax in keeping up with the Post. Seems that the older you get, the things that used to take an hour to accomplish, now take five hours!

When you finally retire from a job, you'll wonder how you managed to do the household chores, work on the cars and STILL GO TO WORK!

You'll soon find out!

jamesbo , my garden is still under 4' of snow Though we had a little rain the last couple days. My driveway is a skating rink now.
My second oldest brother is getting set to retire this spring he will be 60 soon and my oldest brother who teaches in Sun City CA says he gotta work a couple more years but his wife could anytime , she is a nurse. Their daughter , my neice , is going to graduate law school in the spring and then write the BAR. She is a brain as most of her education was on scholarship. She will soon be 22. She also does competitions for some kind of debates and won the california comp , so will be doing the USA event. gordon and Helen plan on retiring back in Canada , Vancouver Island , so I guess the niece will remain in CA to practice law. I don't know which kind of law she will go into.
As I look out the window right now we have heavy snow coming down That groundhog predicted early spring
have heard nothing from my x-ray so it must just be not to bad. nothing from the specialist either , with him it's probably impossible to fit an appointment in unless it's an emergency Nothing to do but wait.
I heard that in some place in the midwest they experienced temperature change of 100 degrees in less than a week from -31 to +72. talk about a shock to the system , though better than if it happened the other way around

Afternoon All!

We have bright sun today, but it's a cold wind blowin out there and we're at 32 degrees. Been there pretty much all day. At least you can see the grass again now that the snow is melted. Makes me wonder where all the trash comes from though, when the snow melts? There's papers and cans and plastic bags in the yard that weren't there in the fall. The ditches all have trash in them - looks ugly.

Haven't done much today. Usual laundry and cleaning. Nothing exciting, lol!

Don... I'm glad you're back with us! Like Citcapp said, we're a family, and I worry when I don't hear from someone. I still get misty eyed when I think of the Colonel! I sure miss him. It's fun to read some of the old posts and laugh at his humor! I showed Larry and Nicole the pics that Chris posted on the other thread (Long Live Col Wickham) - that was a great one of him and his car. Did you see them??

Jamesbo.... ya didn't get your garden plowed, huh? How are you and Donny doing on the wiring job?? You are keeping a tight grip on the glass and supervising, right?

Wolfie.... don't feel bad. We're supposed to get rain or snow tomorrow. I look for at least one more big storm before it's over around here. Probably in March. That's a fickle month for us. Never know what's gonna happen! I'm jonesing for a car show, I"ll tell ya! I like your avatar too, by the way!

Well have a good afternoon, all!

The droptop is wired up and ready to roll.It was a combination of a failed fuse link and the lead from the battery to the horn relay PTO. Hit the key and she starts the first time every time. Jamesbo, if you need someone to help you put some miles on her just let me know.

Played Golf yesterday and played like a GOAT. Because the joint was crowed, they paired us up with 2 more guys who would shut the F up.

Finally, I said, " Is my swinging a golf club interupting your conversation?"
P'ed me off big time. Dat's why I like to play on Mondays.

My buddy JR wouldn't play from de tips. So he hit 2 clubs on every par 4. Driver/lob wedge then put fer a birdie. I wish I could hit my second shot as far as he hits his first.

Yep, Ole Donny got de drop top werking. The boys a Genius. He fergot his load of firewood and a dozen fresh eggs.

Donny, Ya know you can drive anything I gots anytime ya wanta.

Thanks a million.

I could be by the fire eating breakfast now but it's not that cold and there is an IHOP just down the road.

Maybe I can put some time on the 442 today so I put some miles on her later.

Good morning guys & gal

After 6 hours tracing air lines from the air tank to the throttle to 5 different valves, through the cruise control system, I finally found the problem. near the tranny speed control modular. The air line burnt through where it was laying next to the exhaust manifold. Now off to get a custom air line made. This one will be 6"-longer. Good news is while crawling around under all 38' of motorhome I fixed several corroded grounds. tie wrapped other hoses both air and hydraulic away from sharp edges. replaced rusted items and generally cleaned everything up. If all goes well on the 48 build by early fall I will hitch it up behind the beast and hit the road for a extended long vacation. We'll see what happens.

Been clear but cold here. The weather man says we might get a dusting of snow but it won't stick. Talk to you all later

Donny, you're a good guy helping the "Old Man" out, its nice when you young bucks give us a hand we'll always pay you back with food and drink

Ken , what holiday is it there Monday The only thing I can see is Presidents day in the states. Must be a Alberta winter blah holiday
Jamesbo , when I started playing golf in my late 20's I used to partner up with an old Scottish fellow who rarely hit his drive over 200 yards , but he always hit straight down the middle and could chip and putt as good as anyone I have ever seen. After a few years of practice I could hold a 6 or 7 handicap. Have not picked up a club in about 7 years now.
We had more snow last night And we are getting flurries this morning. Feeling off today so a good day to stay indoors and do nothing.

Jamesbo,
Great golf video. I will have to pass it on to all my golfing buddies. But isn't that what Mulligans are for? I think I will go to the driving range tomorrow after boot camp and hit a few.

Monday is Family Day. I think only 5 provinces celebrate it. We needed a Feb holiday and this is what they came up with. I'm OK with it.

Early Evening All!

Well it's snowing again here. Coming down pretty good, and the grass is covered again. It's 34 degrees. I haven't done much today at all. Woke up with a sore throat and a plugged up head and runny nose. Can't take much of anything that won't interfere with the heart pill. I'm taking extra Vitamin C though. Gonna try to nip it before it gets me good. The guys at work have been coughing and sneezing for a couple months and I thought I would miss getting it. I just keep wiping down and spraying everything at work.

Jamesbo.... I'm glad Donny got ya fixed up! That's a good thing!

Citcapp... sounds like you accomplished quite a bit! The old "might as well" strikes again, lol!

Ken..... I want a family day holiday! Our next day off is Good Friday. It's a long stretch for us between holidays, after New Years Day, unless you're a government worker. Tomorrow we won't have any banks open or mail delivery, but I'll be at work! I'm about ready for a mental health day.... soon as the weather gets sunny and warm I'm going to take a sick day and lay in my lawn chair! I need it bad!

Well have a good evening all!

Cutlassgal - try 1tb honey and 2ts cinnamon - just get it down with hot water, on toast, or whatever, as it really works!!
Friend w/arthritis - goes away
Wife w/flu - 1 day gone
another friend who sprained both ankles - swelling went down in an hour
Me with the start of a cold - gone next A.M.

Not saying it's a cure-all, but I've heard nothing but good results, and it can't hurt ya!!

cutlassgal, the funny part about Family Day (in Ontario at least) is that the federal government workers do not get the day off. Probably the only holiday they don't get off.

Probably because they get Jan 2 off. I bet we get mail tomorrow as it's not a Federal holiday.

Morning All!

Thanks for the tip, Rickman - I will try it tonight when I get home! I still feel about the same today - sore throat and runny nose. Don't feel any worse which is good!! Brian here is still hacking away. Clay is off today, but I went out and sprayed his desk, phone and keyboard and mouse really good. I have to check his emails and such and I don't want to be touching his germs! He coughed all last week.

It's icy and snowy here today. We got that snow yesterday afternoon, then it turned to rain. Ice on tree limbs and everything pretty much. They didn't do the roads really good because there is no school today for President's day. Seems when school is out, they forget the rest of us still have to drive to work! Roads have that rough icy crap all over them. Our slushy parking lot is gonna freeze into the lumps and bumps of ice if they don't come scrape it, which they won't. We're supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight. Winter storm warning out until 7 am tomorrow morning. God I am tired of this crap already!!!!!!!! Those "teaser" nice days we had last week were sooooo nice!

Brought some leftover sketti and meatballs for lunch and will try to walk if it's not too slickery out there, lol! I do get tired of sitting most of the day!

Well have a great day all!

Morning everyone. It's snowing here today, again,, have to thank Sandy for passing it our way!

Jamesbro, I definitely understand your frustration with golfing with annoying people. So nice to get out and then have to deal with that. I like your comment about "Is my golf swing interrupting your conversation?" I will have to remember that the next time I get out. Of course, that is if the snow ever melts! Haven't seen the grass since 12/26!

Morning everyone

Blue sky here today, 37 degrees, supposed to get colder snow before the week is out. Some fun huh. Too damn cold to work in the garage can only look at the 48 wish I could work on it.

Sandy, take care girl, this stress you live adds to your health issues. get better soon.

Gotta go get a custom airline built for the motorhome air throttle today and get that installed before the snow flies, the carport is cold as can be without snow on the ground.

How would you like to have a job where you only had to be right 50% of the time.....then be a weatherman. The forecast for today was partly cloudy, 10% chance of rain and a high of 36C (97F). Got up at 7am and it was pouring with thunder and lighting......guess that was the 10%. It continued to rain for 2 hours then was overcast the rest of the day and the high was 25.5C(78F), never saw the sun.
Well everyone have a happy Family Day or Presidents Day in the States. I can remember when we celebrated Washington and Lincoln's birthday....now it's just Presidents Day.

Supposed to snow this afternoon and tonite so will probably have to go up early in the morning.Make sure the tractor is plugged in , with this weather it starts a lot easier. Gotta get out of this house today so I will look at the church then do window shopping. cant afford anything so the mall is a good place to at least walk , til the back tells me to go home

Sandy already gave you our local weather report so I haven't much to say about that.
I propose that Sandy should have The fiirst Annual Classic Oldsmobile.com Spring Down-Under Party at her house on April second to welcome Ausraven and to honor Col.
She could have the Outback Steak House cater it and serve Skippy peanut butter cookies for dessert.
Then afterwards we could all have designated driver Nicole take us for rides in Teepo. During the rides we could sing a rousing edition of Waltzing Matilda to celebrate the spirit of the occasion and for Adrian's listening enjoyment, Nicole would like it too.
