New addition

Well, after years of telling me I was only allowed to have one "fun car" af a time, the wife decided it was finally time to buy herself a "fun car".

She has wanted a Wrangler for as long as I can remember, and things lined up to allow her to finally get one. We picked it up Friday, and shes already been turning wrenches on it. Not sure if I should appreciate it or be offended by it, but anything mechanical that she wanted is already done on this Jeep..so now she's working on decking it out for appearance purposes.

Its now got me back motivated to get the Olds prepped for when the engine arrives..because she has already requested a spot in the garage for her "Jeep stuff" which means I've gotta reorganize.

Hey, happy wife=happy life.

Congrats to your wife. We are, however, anxiously awaiting updates on the Olds!

Ha! Im anxious to get it back together for sure. If my math is right, I believe based on the last discussion of it that pistons should be in this week or next.

As far as for me, I'm hoping to get in the engine bay and get the firewall painted, change a fuel line clamp (it has leaked ever since they messed with it at the exhaust shop) and hopefully get the heater box back in. Best case, this weekend..but we'll see.

Figured Id update what I can, where I can.

Still not much on the Olds. Im assuming the engine should be nearing completion here in the next couple weeks. I've tried not to pester Mark too much about it. I did get the firewall painted, a fuel line replaced, and all that's left is to replace the front seal in the transmission.

Now, we have been busy on the Wrangler in the meantime. Evidently a thing with Wranglers is to name them/give them a theme. So, saving the drawn out explanation it is now known as "Mantaray". It has been paint corrected/ceramic'd and she put some decals on. Last weekend we pulled the bumper off, refinished it, installed the winch, then installed the rock lights under the wheel wells & steps. She took it to a fundraiser/cruise-in thing for a local animal shelter and took home a trophy, so now I've really gotta get the Olds done to assert household dominance..ha!

Nice. You are the perfect guy to answer a question I've had for some time - what is the deal with the small rubber ducks on Jeep dashboards??

if I understand correctly, "ducking" started as a way to just bring joy amongst Jeep owners. It then turned into something as big as the "Jeep Wave". Im finding that the wave is mandatory, however some people aren't fond of the ducks.
