My dilemma

Guys. I guess my problem is more of a comfort thing. I have been on this forum almost 10 years I wanna say. I have gone to other places but this place feels like home. I know many members and have made friends here along with knowing the history of many of their projects. I posted a while back about starting a youtube page and its been a project I have slowly been developing. Im not mr popularity trying to win the world over and im not trying to win people with antics and clownish approaches to projects. Im doing this because hopefully I can help someone through my videos. I wish I had done this 3 years ago when I repainted my olds. But I didn't have the gumption to do it. fast forward to a little over a year ago and im building engines for people and doing interesting sidejobs helping friends and people on their projects and things started to move forward to where I am now in that projectfi. Im currently getting my 1977 Pontiac Bonneville ready for race duty for my wife. Its olds powered and its kind of an interesting car with interesting history. My uncle bought it back in the mid / early 80's it had been to mexico and back half a dozen times before being parked on july 1989. the month and year I was born. In 1999 my dad decided to ask my uncle if he wanted to let it go and he said take it. Between 1999 and 2006 my dad picked at it until I said to bring it to my autobody shop class. We did the work but left a lot to be desired. ( solid 10 footer ) . I graduated (2007) got my olds and had it done by 2009 . by 2010 I had tired of the slow yet impressive 350 olds and told my dad hey lets put my 350 in there and get the car done. This spearheaded an effort and we had it driving by 2011. Its been used on and off then my dad retired in 2016 and the car came to my house. Where it just sat. I really just drive my olds. I told my wife to drive it my dad was ok with it. His ambition to drive car is zip and zilch. He just wanted to build a car. My wife follows me to the track and it was time to let her have a chance at the fun and gain a different view of the hobby. She took the car down the track in oct. 2019 and she was hooked. Which quickly made come up with a plan to fix some safety issues and make some upgrade and lighten up the car. The goal with the small block olds is to get the tank in the 14's while I build the 463 olds. plus this gives my wife time to build reflexes. If she does good she will for sure wheel my olds which honestly. I have more fun tuning and building than racing. its hard to focus on all those things . This is more of a way to get her to just drive the cars down the track while I focus on tuning and building..... Or so I say. Anyway I wanted to share this with you guys maybe this is something you would like to follow. Im doing a little bit of everything on this project and love the questions from people who are planning their own projects tackling the same type of repairs and mods I also open up about how I structure my projects based on money and time frames and projection in one of my videos ( important stuff for the budget guys) I also cover my outings to the track and mods and repairs to my olds . If this is not allowed please remove. Im gonna share a link and if you click on my page name ( coppercutlass or the icon with a picture of my car ) it should lead you to more videos. If you think this is something you can enjoy subscribe. This isn't a money thing for me. Just a way to share my work and have some fun documenting it. Im sharing it here because this place has been my online home for sometime and im most comfortable here.

Coppercutlass.
We are here to share our heartaches, misfortunes and pleasures or such.
You are the same age as my son. It takes time and experience to build reflexes as you mention for your wife. I retired in April 2017.
My son and I went snow skiing just two weeks ago and we spent the afternoon carving our way down the mountain in 8-inches of nice powder.
While riding up the mountain on the chairlift I mentioned he is getting his reflexes dialed-in. He chuckled and said "yeah, I am finally learning how to correct-up instinctively when making a bobble, without taking a spill. His reflexes are improving while mine are worsening. hahahaha

Personally, I include YouTube in my research when trying to learn something. I do not have a YouTube page, and probably should, because I too like making vid's of what I do, and especially take lots of photos to document my efforts of restoring tired iron.
We hope that other individuals can benefit from what we share.
So, you got the wifey hooked on a new thrill. hahaha We all need something to cheer us up each day.

I drug home a 350 Olds engine and turbo 350 trans early 2018 to hopefully rebuild for my oldest daughter, now 33yo, and it is a '71 block, with #2 ? heads ?
Also, to muddy the waters, I drug home a nice '71 455 short block and a froze long block (marine engines), with the thought of maybe substituting the 455 for the 350. We'll see what transpires. no videos yet.
I think it is a great thing to share YouTube vids.

I started a You Tube page but don't have that much on there. I can't stand to hear my voice on there but several people like following my Jetfire stuff so I just do it some anyway. I don't do fancy editing or anything so my videos are crude at times. I have one explaining the fluid injection on the Jetfire and got far more views than I expected it to. It is more fun doing than I thought it would be. I enjoy comments more than anything else. If you like doing it I think you should.

If you can have fun and like doing it, I say more power to ya. Its nice to know you can help others out when their in similar situations as well.
I enjoy a few channels that have mechanical and technical topics. Being retired allows me time to sit and watch.
For some of these it starts to look like a lot of work, given all the time and editing they do. Perhaps they choose to because their monetized. I'm just in it for the content and less of the clowning around.

I plan on keeping my videos simple its been fun and the steady viewership is motivating enough. it might not be much but its not for nothing. I try to stay true to only what I know and my experiences .

I think it is a good idea. There is a demand for "how to do" videos. I wish YouTube was around 55 years ago, I had to learn the hard way. I use YouTube before working on my newer cars. Very helpful. If you develop a following you can actually some money. Good luck.
