Most people who look thru my music collection are stunned at what's in it. If I like it, I own it and the hell with you if you don't like it.

That said I own very little country. My dad forced me to listen to it as a kid. Didn't like it then, don't like it now. He never "got" that not everyone liked the same things he did.

This is the one that blew my mind to shreds in 1969 and opened my eyes and ears. Loud, nasty, snarling. And I loved it.

Long way from Conway Twitty.

The strangest music originated from the strangest parts of the country. Before I've ever seen videos from this group, I didn't even know that they were strange

You really don't want to see what she and Gracey Slick look like today

I've been known to belt out "and my name is Bobby Brown!!" at a Bob Brown at my workplace before.

The funny part of music, beyond everyone's personal taste, and what moved them, hit home to them.
Is when you hear a song you haven't heard since you were 11 years old.
I was a sheltered child. So, many songs meaning or subject matter, Went right over my head. It is like watching cartoons from your youth and now getting the jokes, in a tottally different way than you did back when your mind had a halo above it.

overlooked drum solo

I was out on a errand today when I heard this and thought to myself , here is a overlooked drum solo by a often overlooked drummer Carl Palmer !! this is not the version I heard on the radio but it's what I could find, OMG if you were at this concert in Montreal 1977 you got your moneys worth just from Carl Palmer alone ! this could be one of the best live drum sole's ever E.L.P. Carl Palmer - Tank-

Took my son to his first concert to see Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge, and Saint Asonia. Sound of Silence was the hit of the show!
Songs with particular meaning to me are quite varied. Here's one... She turned out to be guano crazy!

Songs that will get me right no matter what mood I'm in. They have nothing in common, but they will both fix me up.

They don’t make cars or music like they did in 1970.
Great lyrics, great guitars, and a Mellotron!

A bit obscure, but a fabulous mellotron rock song - surprisingly not included on the ‘74 compliation “this is the Moody blues”. YouTube “Moody blues live Isle of wight”, it’ll blow you away.
