For reasons I won't go into, but y'all can read between the lines...

Rod Stewart "Maggie Mae" and "You Wear It Well", Marshall Tucker "Heard It In A Love Song", and Outlaws "There Goes Another Love Song". Love 'em all but usually can't listen without a few tears. Bob Seger "Night Moves" carries a lot of meaning for me too- never understood "with Autumn closing in" till the last few years.

I get super nostalgic when I hear Maggie Mae. When I was in college at Chico State, my main squeeze (Little Nell in 1971 for those that are familiar with CS) and I adopted that as "OUR SONG". God she was beautiful - lots of fun while it lasted, but unfortunately pretty high maintenance and we ended up going in different directions..........

Tedd, it sure was. I remember living in the Bay Area, before enrolling at Chico, a bunch of us would travel up there for the week. What a blast!

Highway Star by Deep Purple. Who would have figured that! GEARJAMMER George Thorogood. Can not stop playing with the Lighting Rod. If that song is playing.
"I Can't Drive 55" Sammy Hagar. Rockin’ Down the Highway The Doobie Brothers. So many more!

One of my favorite shows was at the Agora in Cleveland, OH sometime in the early 1980s; Warren Zevon rocking it unplugged, beating the hell out of two Ovation guitars. Between songs he would exchange guitars with his assistant who would ensure that they were always in tune; Lawyers, Guns, and Money!

Briane - I caught the news of Peter's passing the day it was announced & reflected on his music by watching some early Fleetwood Mac and dialing in a couple YouTube videos featuring Peter. Respected by everyone and a great contributing artist. RIP Peter.

top favorites for me would be Pink Floyd dark sideof the moon at the Spectrum, Led Zeppelin Madison Square Gareden and Chic Corea with Return to Forever at the Paladium.

Mmph. Tedd, don't get me started. It's worse than book burnings. I personally like The Band's version better, esp the live one from "Rock of Ages".

There's a high school girl here with aspirations to Howard University's law school who is using the current unrest to pad a college resume and wrangle a full ride scholarship. Ambitious teenagers can be self-serving but she's turning it into an art form and is shameless about it.

Was listening to some Elton John last night. Stuff from before his superstar days. "Country Comfort" and "Into the Old Man's Shoes" sometimes dig up demons from my past but the best songs often put into words what you're going thru at particular times of your life.

I've owned every one of their albums and I've seen them a half dozen times. I'd be hard pressed to find one of their songs I don't enjoy.

David (Draiman) has an interesting story regarding a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass which oddly enough shaped a turning point in his life.

So not a big fan of K.D.Lang (but she has a haunting voice and can belt out a tune) or duets but I am a big Roy Orbison fan and this is one duet that almost cant be beat

A young friend is always after me to turn him on to music I listened to "back in the day" and I have rediscovered a lot of stuff I loved but had been pushed back into dark recesses of my mind.

This 20 year old has taken a real liking to 70s Steely Dan. When he heard "Showbiz Kids" his jaw dropped. Then I made him google how the Dan got their name...😼

Trying to wean him off a Mopar obsession. Kid wants a 1969 Barracuda. I said why do you want a car even Mopar people look down on? "Because no one else has one."

Never liked McDonald, solo, with the Dan or with the Doobies. Always struck me as a lounge lizard who happened to get lucky and glom on to some real talent. The fact he was a dead ringer for one of my high school nemeses didn't endear him to me either. I still don't like that guy either!
