And talk about some Rockin

Heartbreaker, soul shaker,
I've been told about you.
Steamroller, midnight stroller,
what they've been saying must be true.
Red-hot mama, velvet charmer,
time's come to pay your dues.
Now you're messin' with a,
son-of-a-bitch!
Now you're messin' with a son-of-bitch!

Cool the engines, slow this rocket down.
Cool the engines, why don't ya take a look around.

I'm no fool, gonna keep it cool, take it day by day.
Cool the engines. We don't know where we might go

Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Gordon Lightfoot definitely had a talent for storytelling. I remember clearly my 10 year old sister in law listening to the song and was instantly interested in the entire story.

I listen to that song every November 10, I’m about 90 south of Fort Wayne. Guess I’m guilty as well.

He was a master. Terrific poet, unusual and mellow voice, and what alot of folks don't know is he was an incredible 6 and 12-string acoustic guitar player. He had all the tools!

Love Nazareth. Listen closely to the song, and try not to laugh at the deep-voiced "son of a bitch" part that is layered into the chorus. I have to tell myself when the song starts to not listen for it, otherwise it ruins the song for me because I just start chuckling.

One of my favorite songs since I first heard it as a wee lad:

And if the real thing don't do the trick,
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn to the wick
Oh, barracuda, oh, yeah

Well I am not a big Country Western fan however I would be remiss if I didn't include this song lyric by Chris LeDoux from the album Country Underground, This is on my list of songs I would want if stranded on a desert island. Song title This Cowboys Hat.
"You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry
Bulldog the Mississippi and pin its ears down flat
Long before you take this cowboy's hat"
Just a side note Chris LeDoux was the real deal he lived a Cowboys life and was a rodeo champ !! RIP Chris

My favorite collaboration between 2 mega stars:

Pressure pushing down on me,
pressing down on you no man ask for.
Under pressure - that burns a building down,
splits a family in two,
puts people on streets.
It's the terror of knowing
what this world is about.
Watching some good friends,
screaming let me out.
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher.
Pressure on people - people on streets.

We've already had some Country. Although I'm a Rocker at heart, there are also alot of Country songs I love. Here's one of my top 2 Country ballads. This one hits very close to home!

I'm a lead foot leaning on a souped up Chevy (Old's).
I'm a good ol' boy, drinkin' whiskey and rye on the levee.
But she carries me when my sins make me heavy.
She loves me like Jesus does.

And all the crazy in my dreams,
and both my broken wings,
every single piece of everything I am.
And she knows the man I ain't,
she forgives me when I can't.
The devil man, no he don't stand a chance.
Cause she loves me like Jesus does.

Ask Randy California, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, et al, regarding their propensity to rearrange “new” songs from others songs. Sadly, they did not properly give credit where credit was due.
And Memphis Minnie (When the Levee Breaks), Jake Holmes (Dazed and Confused), ...

Ooh it's a killing machine. This 16 year old, driving a one in a thousand. Hotter that most out of the factory 1970 Buick 350 GS.

God watched over me with that one! And many, many, many times since.

One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey!
Well, there's too much traffic, I can't pass, no!
So I tried my best illegal move

Remember the way that you loved me
Do anything I say
Now I see you out somewhere
You won't give me the time of day
And that's a cold shot, darlin'
Yeah, that's a drag
That's a cold shot, baby
We'd better learn from that
I really meant I was sorry
Forever causing you pain
You showed your appreciation
By walking out anyway....

Well, you can't sleep in my bed no more
Well, you can't ride in my car
I won't let you cook for me, baby
It's never gonna get that far
Gonna send you back to wherever
The hell it was you came
Then I'm gonna get this tattoo
Changed to another girl's name
Oh, it ain't no fun no more
I don't know what to say
The honeymoon is over, baby
It's never gonna be that way again....

'Honeymoon is Over' from 'The Honeymoon is Over' by The Cruel Sea.
Album is on high rotation in the car.

For those of you who are chubby chasers. You know who you are!
This is what the old Italians in NYC listen to. When I was a child. Still makes me laugh so hard!

I've got a woman as big as a house yes sir
She's as big as a two family house with a porch and a fence
You won't believe what you see when you look at her
She's enormous colossal tremendous gigantic immense

Why try to deny it
She's just what I like
If she goes on a diet
I'll go on strike

The bigger the figure the better I like her
The better I like her the better I feed her
The better I feed her the bigger the figure
The bigger the figure the more I can love

She's exactly like a watermellon
Big and round and sweet
In a party dress
She may be quite a mess
But I love her a lot
So what if she's not so neat

The Bigger the Figure
Louis Prima

Sammy song hit home to me. I was, am a lead foot on the interstate.

Back in the 80's. Had my NY driver license revoked. Went to Florida and got a driver license there. Using my Mom's address. That one was later revoked. So I went to my Uncle in NJ for a license. That one too was later revoked. All speeding ticket on the interstates. Did not drive a car for a year. Until as able to reinstate my NY one.
