Music Fun - Check it out

OK guys, I haven't done one of these fun threads in awhile, but here we go. I know we have alot of music lovers on here. What song has lyrics that really stick with you for days every time you hear it, and really take you back to the day? Please post 2 or 3 sentences max that really take you back to the day, and if you know the Artist, Song Title, and Album identify it. I'll start:

She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes,
with points of her own, sitting way up high.
Way up firm and high.

Bob Seger
Song Title - Night Moves
Album - Night Moves

Man, I loved that song!

"Who's Next", which is arguably the best album of that band, is in my CD player in the truck. Due to the political turmoil of today, and the turmoil at the office I personally face, "Won't Get Fooled Again" gets play.

I about put "I get on my knees and pray we won't get fooled again: meet the new boss, same as the old boss." in a Teams chat today about a senior manager now being a group manager.

My musical tastes are a generation older than my peers, at least, even though I am only five years older than most.

Drivers Seat by Sniffing the Tears. EP preferred.

It was on the top 10 and got a lot of radio play the first couple of years I was driving. Still love the song, wish I was still in the '70s sometimes!

Hey guys, I probably F'ed up and did not make it clear what I was hoping to see as responses in this thread. I was looking for 2 or 3 sentences of specific lyrics that are essentially "the hook" for you in the song you're remembering. I never used the word lyrics in my initial request, my bad, but I think John got it.

Thanks to everyone who responded already, hope you have a great weekend!

I think I understood you then but didn't explain my response. "Looks like tomatoes" is a tongue in cheek interperatation of "Looks Like We Made it" a song by Barry Manilow with those words in it as well as the hook and title. The phrase was understood by more than a few listeners at the time as "looks like tomatoes" and only verbally states as such by my best friend's 6 year old daughter. When we laughed and corrected her she said "but that's what it sounds like" and we said yes your right but since Barry M. was seen by many as "different" it made it all the more humorous.

Released the year I bought my ‘72 V code 442 and drove it daily to high school - cranked often (8-track off course) during many stoplight races on US202. Great lyrics, name it…

Two in a row, everybody knows
At the green light, you rev it on the red line
Been waitin' all week to get my wheels on the street
Get my hands on the wheel, slide down in the seat

Perhaps that was too obvious - with basically the song title in the lyrics, how about this one

Well, I got this guitar
And I learned how to make it talk
And my car's out back
If you're ready to take that long walk
From your front porch to my front seat
The door's open but the ride ain't free
And I know you're lonely for words that I ain't spoken
Tonight we'll be free, all the promises'll be broken

One more classic:

Nobody gonna take my car
I'm gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
It's gonna break the speed of sound
Ooh it's a killing machine
It's got everything
Like a driving power big fat tires
And everything

You and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking

racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older

shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Hopefully those of you in readerland know the song.

I’d love to see this band, but I don’t think it will ever happen.

OK, just one more….

Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream

Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead
You better stay home
And do as you're told
Get out of the road if you want to grow old

Anyone with a classic / muscle car should know this one.

Red on black, she's a street machine.
Sets ten inches off the ground with a custom plate
That says I-E-A-T Z28

Remembered it was a Floyd album right off the bat from the Album cover, but I didn't remember the name of the Album or recognize the song/lyrics and had to look it up. Album - Animals, Song - Sheep, now that's some weird $hit, but I love their music!

Back again !!
One of my favorite lyric quotes is "But now I laugh and pull so hard
And see you swinging on the gallows pole" which is from one of my favorite Led Zep. tunes Gallows pole, on the album Robert Plant and Jimmy page are credited with writing the song however not so !! it is a old folk tune that has several different titles and has been recorded by such artist as Peter, Paul and Mary and Lead Belly.(with slightly different lyrics and arrangement )
If you have never heard it give it a listen its about a condemned man about to hang and his attempt to bribe the hangman, great tune !!
you can find it on You tube.

Being raised a Michigander, and being Highschool age when he was in his heyday, Seger was Rock & Roll royalty.

I think Jethro Tull had very unique sound, and I always loved hearing Ian Anderson on the flute riffs!

Love LZ, still kick myself, 30 years ago when page and plant toured, friends went and ended up backstage.
I scoffed at the idea of going to a concert that only had two members of Led Zeppelin. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ask Randy California, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, et al, regarding their propensity to rearrange “new” songs from others songs. Sadly, they did not properly give credit where credit was due.

Saturday involved a lot of driving down to Ft Wayne and back to help my niece's boyfriend move up to our area. Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald came up on my playlist, and I jokingly asked my wife if we were allowed to listen to that song outside of Michigan.

Another great band from '76.

Life is like the coldest Winter. People freeze the tears I cry.
Words of hail their minds are into, I've got to crack this ice and fly...
