The Mockingbird has left us.

Harper Lee died yesterday. Anyone who ever read "To Kill A Mockingbird" or saw the 1962 film and didn't come away deeply affected never really understood American (and particularly Southern) literature.

Nelle Harper, we pass the damn ham in your honor and memory.

Her work was a true classic. Its has survived the test of time and will continue to.

Great motion picture as well.

In her own way Harper Lee probably did a lot to further civil rights, yet she shunned publicity. The world is a lesser place without her.
