Look at Oldsmobiles in the the USA

Hi you Olds folks. Me and my wife are planning a visit to the USA for a vacation about three weeks in 2012 (I know it´s a long time to 2012, for very young people but ....!) but I´m going to start the projekt right now.
I have told her that It´s going to bee be fun. I dont know where to go exactly, but I´m convinced that we are going to visit a major Oldsmobile convent at the journey. The flight cost between Sweden and the major airports i the USA doesn´t different much (?).

Please give me some information about Oldsmobile events where you live, and maybee we can show up. I´m also happy with small events. i doesn´t ave to be big and crowdy. We are planning te trip to the USA between 2012-02-01 to 2012-10-30.

Best regards
Stanley and Lena

Sounds like great trip. See if you can google "AutosWalk" it is a website for national car shows State by State. Google automotive magazines in the USA. The mags will have events with contact names and numbers. You can call them and start planning on their events for the following year. I am positive this group knows a few dozen events that have become very popular and are scheduled every year at or around the same time each year.
Good luck.

Wow, that's a very long trip!

For starters, the Oldsmobile Homecoming show in Lansing Michigan. Usually about 500 Oldsmobiles there in one spot, plus the largest all Olds swap meet this side of an OCA Nationals (and some years bigger than that). In 2012 it will be held on June 16.

Speaking of OCA Nationals, the 2012 Nationals will be in DeMoines, Iowa. I think the dates for that are July 4 through the 8th, but I am not sure as July 4 seems like an odd time for the Nationals. There's something else that usually happens around that day... Hopefully someone can set me straight on that.

According to this site: http://www.aacamuseum.org/events/event.aspx?id=365 the Hurst Olds Club of America is having a Lawn Show on July 28th, 2012 at the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

You absolutely cannot come from Sweden, to Lansing, MI, and miss the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum!

This might be the best show for you - just make your reservations early!
This is around Detroit, where most American cars were built (and some still are).
Yes, the REO museum is a must-see, too!

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is just west across the lake and that is where the Harley Davidson assembly plants and museum is, if you are interested in those legendary American icons.

Here is a small map of the area.

Lots to see there. Before you know it, it will be time to go home again...
I hope to visit there pretty soon.

Yep, gotta go there. If you do it the 3rd weekend in June, you can tie it in with Homecoming, which has the largest one day Olds show anywhere.

Thank you all for the great information. I have a little difficult to convince my wife to go to the USA in the middle of the very, very short north of Sweden summer, but this will surely help. If You have the time keep on sending information, a lot of other olds fan, foreigners are probaby very interested about this stuff.

Best regards
Stanley
