Kingsport Nats- who's coming?

Thought we should start a thread for who's coming to Nationals in July so we'll know who might be up for dinner or informal group get-together. Closest it's been to me in a while so I'll be there as a spectator.

I'm in Quality Inn arriving Wednesday and leaving Saturday.

Admins or Mods- can we sticky this post to keep it current and visible?

My wife and I are bringing the Jetfire. Not sure yet if the kids are coming or going to my mom and dads. They want to go to grandmas house over Oldsmobiles..... I have failed as a parent.

I'm a maybe at this point. Not too far away from Charlotte. Would probably bring the 63 F-85 De Luxe, still in PA, or drive the SuperVan. Depends how things go and also how hot it is then.

I and the stepson will be there! I have been elected as usual as the host for dinner on Thursday night. If we have someone that is at, around the area that has a suggestion for a good place to meet and eat let me know!

Pat

Well I just might have to as my brother is now waffling about going. What a shame on the 50th anniversary of the '66 the W30 won't be there!

With that comment you should be required to forfeit the W30. If I would have know this I never would have went to Vegas to get that car!

My wife and I will also be at the Holiday Inn. We should be arriving Wednesday and leaving Sunday. Hope to meet as many CO members as possible and we definitely are in for dinner and adult beverages. I'm going to bring my sticks so if anyone wants to get nine in one day let me know.

I will be there, driving down from Newport. Scott, Eric - look forward to seeing you again.
Joe - I will be passing through northern Virginia on the Sunday before. Will you be at home?

I was thinking of organizing a late afternoon get-together for CO members at a convenient pub so we could put faces to contentious posts. This would be after the swap meet closes. Anyone think that is a good idea?

Check permalink #8 I have been hosting the C.O. get together for last 3 years, I did not really want to do this years meeting, but everyone was so nice and kinda felt somewhat obligated to come 10 hrs plus to do this year meeting. And with H/O club having their meet along with OCA it should be another good turn out?

Started out as the Michigan contingency first with just 3 member plus spouses. Last year we had 45 members and family included in that number with a bunch of good stories from Dave Bunch and Patton Glade doing the MC work.

When we get about two months out, I will start with some initial information and then an RSVP list.

Pat

I will be at the Marriot host hotel arriving early Tuesday and leaving early Sunday. I won't have my white 66 442, but this year I will have 3 swap meet spaces, selling lots of 66/67 A-Body STUFF. I always have a cooler of cold beer. Stop in and say hello.

Disappointed that we will not be using Thunder Valley (Bristol) for the drag racing this year, but looking forward to seeing the Joe D. Rund car, and Tweed's Chesrown car and all the other racers again. Hope the strip is decent. C U There.

Thinking of making the trip for Fri/Sat while the family spends time at Dollywood to use the season passes. Unsure if I will bring one of the Oldsmobiles at this point.

We are still going but not bringing the Jetfire now. I have to much going on and not going to be able to get it ready. I will also be cutting the trip shorter than planned. We will be getting there Wednesday evening and leaving Saturday. I have space for parts if anyone needs me to bring something heavy.

Who else is going? I will be there Thurs eve/Fri/Sat now as my wife decided to go to the beach instead due to the heat. I won't be driving the W-30 though as I'm afraid it is going to be a bit too hot for both the car and me without A/C. Anyone else going solo? I'll be easy to spot. I'm the good looking one.

I had to head home early because I got word that my brother is coming to visit next weekend. So I'm doing some things to get ready around here.

Anyway, it was a pleasure to meet everyone I did, including rcktdoc, Troys Toy 70, oldspackrat, Cincinnati Rick, 70Post, 1970cs, etc. as I'm sure I'm missing someone. Also nice to see Joe Padavano again.

I'm home now, so if anyone wants to stop by and see the car(s), I'm by Charlotte airport. PM me if interested. NO JOYRIDES! (well, without supervision) haha!

7:13 with only 45 min for the connection back to Kingsport. I suspect I'll rent a car and drive if that happens.

They have another flight at 10:25pm if you miss it. But that would give you enough time to stop over my place. I could pick you up at the terminal and take you back for that flight. Keep me posted.

I'm at the gate in CLT, so looks like I'll make the original flight. We'll need to connect next time.
