Be safe, bud. Heat is dangerous especially for men of years. Think minimal clothes, fans, and lots of water.

So much for the summer officially being over but look on the bright side at least you don't live in Death Valley and have to endure the 134 degree heatwave they had a few days ago.

Stay cool !

Having the AC looked after on the Money Pit, Among other things. Probably just can't compete with the 108 temp. About no fun at all trying to run around with the top down, new meaning for burn out...Tedd

After suffering many days of +100° days this summer, we are leaving for two weeks in Crested Butte, Colorado in the morning. I checked the 15-day forecast and the high each day is in the low to mid 70's and the low each night is in the low to mid 40's.

The wife and I just returned from a week trip to Pagosa Springs Co. last Friday, unfortunately the weather there was not that much cooler during the days although it did get to the 40's during the late night. We wanted a relief from the sixty days of 100 degree temps we had here this summer, oh well.

I have been here in the Dallas area most of my life and usually if we get our 100 plus temps In July ( which we experienced this year) instead all of August, our hot part of the summer being August doesn't last is long. Yeah and it didn't. Were good. AND we recently got some good rain!

Some rain is an understatement for that 1,000 year flood a couple weeks ago. Yikes.

Well I live out in the middle of Ellis County, the center of cotton country during the 1900's, and this gumbo black earth didn't like the heat and draught we had at all. I had cracks in the ground that I could put my whole hand into up halfway to my elbow! And they are still there even after the rain we got, now they are just big pot holes.

That would be Crusty Butte. Near everywhere, but a far less desirable destination.

Glad to hear it. Here in Texas we were all relieved when our heat wave broke a week or so ago.
