sorry, excuse my ignorance for a sec... I have to visit the USA for a week in October, and trying to make sure I have at least one weekend free to myself. Thought it would be good to try and find something car related to check out, so wondering if there is a good list of shows to look at. At the moment the plan is to be in Phoenix 12th-19th October.

It shows two car shows in the Phoenix area during the time you're there. One is in Cave Creek, Arizona, which is a few miles north of Phoenix, on October 17.

The other show is on the 18th in Phoenix itself. So you have one for each day of the weekend.

 

The Pavilions car show in Scottsdale is worth attending. I enjoyed it when I lived out there. High quality cars in a relaxed setting every Saturday night.

 

x2 on this. It's a weekly gathering but it draws a HUGE amount of cars, especially during the milder parts of the year. It's probably larger than most typical organized "shows" even though it's not a show with judging and awards. It's put on by the owner of the Rock 'n Roll McDonald's, who is an avid car guy.

I remember going there on a Saturday when Barrett Jackson was in town. Usually we'd go there about 4 PM and have no problem finding a spot. On this particular Saturday, I left the house at 6:15 AM, got there about 6:45 and the place was already half full! IIRC, the car count that night was over 1,000 and spilled over to the adjacent parking lots. It was a madhouse...

 

Hello Sam, I was born and raised in Terhorne, about 35 kilometers north of Eindhoven.
If you can make it, I would like to meet you at the weekly show at the Pavilions off the East loop of the 101 on Indian Bend Rd. in Scottsdale. Us Oldsmobile guys usually park in the 3rd row from the back (the palm tree row). Een fijne dag gewenst!

Where will you be besides Phoenix?

 

Just phoenix i'm afraid, im on-call all week until friday afternoon, and then flying home sunday morning, so not much time to travel further afield.

 

I think you'll be fine with the Pavilions show. Depending on the heat, you prob should head there at 4, but you should get a second opinion just in case.
