Historic White's Ferry linking Loudoun to Maryland ceases operations
After 234 years. It is closed! With so few bridges over the Potomac between DC and Frederick, MD. White Ferry was the only way to get over the Potomac River. To avoid sitting for hours, in the horrible traffic on IS 270. White Ferry was the way to go. Been on it a few times. Nice boat trip. Reminds me of the movie Houseboat. And one of my favorite line in the movie. "If you do one thing EVER to hurt her -- make her cry again -- I'll have your heart cut out if I have to go to the mafia!"

Looks like another come-here landowner didn't care about a centuries-old public convenience. After that length of time that judge should have ordered an easement for access, especially given the horrendous traffic in the area. I will drive 100 miles out of the way to avoid that area.
That's why I wish the Commonwealth had elected judges. Do something stupid like this and face the voters next election. We got stuck with a $30mil courthouse renovation when one forced the issue and then promptly retired and moved out of the county.
