Helping out a member
Hello All! I wanted to start a thread here in an attempt to help out a fellow member and Olds owner. With over 2200 views, I think many people have heard what’s been going on with Kyle's (“Kyle’s77Cutlass”) family, but here’s a quick recap:
His 11 yr-old son’s muscular health has been deteriorating rapidly and he was not able to obtain adequate, timely help up in Canada, where he lives. He moved quickly to line-up the best assistance he could find in the US knowing most, if not all, costs will be coming from his pocket. He drove down to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN with his wife and son back on 12/2 and has set-up shop in hotels while his son, Kelvin, undergoes a barrage of tests. There is a lot of uncertainty how long they’ll need to be there but it’s clear they’ll be there as long as they need to be.
**UPDATE 12/14: Kyle and his family are now back home in Canada! Please see his thread (linked below) for updates to his son's situation.**
So here I sit, in my NJ home, with all my belongings and my 2 healthy sons watching this drama unfold. An earlier post on his thread (https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/clubhouse/71760-mayoclinic-need-advice-please-2.html) from member “firefrost gold” inquiring about what Kelvin liked to do or read gave me the idea that I’d like to help these people out, even if it’s only a little. So I PM’d Kyle for his PayPal account info and I’ve since sent him a small monetary gift, hoping it’ll buy them a nice dinner or maybe even something to help keep their boy’s spirits up. It’s not much but I hope it helps during this stressful, overwhelming time for them.
If anyone else would like to do the same, please PM me for Kyle’s Paypal account info.

That's completely cool man. I think it's safe for me to say that Kyle appreciates any support he and his family receive, whether it be economic or spiritual (i.e. prayers, good wishes, positive vibes, etc...).

Oldsman, thank you for starting this thread. I've been away from CO for a while and I'm playing catch up on things.
Kyle, hang in there. I wish you and your Family the best. Keep me (Us) informed on Kelvin's progress.
