So for some reason unbeknownst to me, last Sunday I was unable to access my FB account without a code for "2 factor authentication." According to FB, the code generator exists in their settings, and in order to get the code, you have to open the FB app on your phone and click the "menu" then drll down to get the code. Problem is, there is no menu option when I open the app.

I've tried resetting my password, sending a pic of my ID, and asking for the code, but nothing works. I don't really want to open another account and start over, so does anyone have any ideas?

 

Can you use a PC to get there?

 

Nope..tried that, my backup phone and even tried having my wife pull up my profile to get a code...no go.

 

Two factor authentication is generally an opt-in option. Did you opt-in for two factor authentication?

Don't ask me how, but I was able to get back in...and the first thing I did was disable 2FA..
