Ti's too hot there. That would be a top up convertible day, or stay at home day.... Tedd

A stay at home day. Watching some Bluebloods on satellite. Finally found out who killed Joe Regan.

About the same here. Yesterday was 116ºF. But there is no way I can keep my house that cold - my AC would run nonstop and doubtful if it would ever even reach that setpoint.

I was gonna walk the dogs in the morning but it was already 105F at 8am so they had to play indoors.

It was 10 deg cooler here in IN today than recently, so I kept at the yard work and hauled dead, be-vined trees out of this part I am clearing up to near the driveway to burn. Wore myself out.

Yes, Texans love air conditioning. I moved from Yankee-land and bought a 2008-vintage house 5 years ago from the original owner. The air conditioning is so powerful that it could maintain the inside 39° cooler than outside average day/night temp.

e.g. if outside were 125 day and 95 night, the inside temperature could be maintained at 71°.

My training is in industrial HVAC and I was astounded at the massive air conditioning units installed in many homes in this area.

You'd think the Phoenix area would have similar systems, but I guess that would cut into the the builders profits. So instead they installed medium grade systems in one of the hottest places in the country.

Back when the buildings for the Super Collider was being built in Waxahachie, I was one of the design engineers of the magnet development lab. One of the physicist was from Fermi Lab in Chicago. He was very hard to convince the buildings needed airconditioning until we had a very hot and humid August day. He shut up after that.

Reminds me of when I worked in the Houston area. We had a lot of engineers from competitor companies in Minneapolis come to work for us.

Many of them moved back after a few summers.
