a real thanksgiving would consist of fish, corn and some type of turnup...not mention the fact that if you were an indian in provinctown/truro you would of had your corn stolen and would of been murdered by the puritans...happy thanksgiving

I'm envious of you Mark! Make sure you down those 5000 calories and fall unconcious on the couch after the feast.

didnt mean to bring you down...just mentioning how we manage to create a holiday in the states that is far from the actual truth we are suppose to believe...pilgrims and indians sitting around enjoying turkey and smoking a peace pipe...maybe in Canada things were different

I understand what you are saying, and do sympathize with your view.
Enough said.

Happy Thanksgiving Mark and fellow Canucks. Enjoy the day and appreciate it as a day of thanks for the numerous bounties we appreciate and those we sometimes take for granted. Actually it's Thanksgiving up here on Monday, not today though.

I hope you spent it like we do in the States. Lots of family, friends and food! Always a good time to pause and consider all people and things we're thankful for.

Allan, we had Thanksgiving yesterday as it's easier to get everyone together. Just the usual, too much food, too much to drink and too much fun. Now a whole day to recover!

Today is the day, going to visit family. We stole everything from our Indians up here too, we are slowing giving it all back unfortunately. Most Native people here are in a cycle of welfare and alcohol. The Pilgrims did live in peace with the natives for years. Native people thought of themselves as car takers of the land, not outright owners. Unfortunately, non violent people don't stay in power long. We like to think our history is blemish free, it isn't. Happy Thanksgiving.
