YES!!!!

Canada gets it in OT!!!

Congrats to the USA on an amazing effort in that game though.
I thought we were going to be the Silver takers once the tying goal went in.

What an amazing game. The US team has absolutely nothing to feel bad about that was such a stressful game. My heart is still pounding.

Yep that was a tough one to watch in our house. I am an American married to a Canadian living in Windsor Ontario. It would have been nice to see the US win, but man what a game!

Nothing to feel bad about with a Silver medal Joe, and the fact of how close it was to a Gold.
Very good game to watch. I had only gotten to watch one other game during the Olympics this year, and it was the other Canada - USA game.
So this one was a better one!

Silver is nothing to be ashamed about though. Some of those guys seemed a bit upset with it.

Considering most of the "Experts" said the US would end up 4th - 5th. I think the US team really showed them how good they are. Besides the US had the best goalie with Miller by a long shot.

In Salt Lake the US team taped a Canadian flag to the floor of their dressing room and walked on it, so that's why that game was so one sided...we had to punish them. This time, they didn't do that, they just said that they hated us so the game was closer.

14 golds...no host country has ever won that many medals in a winter Olympics and no country has ever won 14 golds at any winter Olympics. Way to go Canada!

Congrats to Canada. I heard it was a great game. At least the Black Hawks had something to say about the outcome. Duane, just noticed in your thread title, in between all of the *s, it spells GOLD. Thought you were swearing about something.

Heck, I don't care if they took silver, they were impressive. This was anyones game. The winner was only determined by shots on goal. Sid the kid in his interview afterwards even stated that he didn't know where the shot was going, he just took it. So luck does play a part.

Maybe he had to work on Sunday like I did. Figure that's a good enough reason.

Good point. Sometimes I wonder what would happen to the worlds economy if work stopped for a few hours to enjoy some national pride on the telly.

Right, pip pip cheerio and all that rot. Good show, wot? I'm glad I had the day off. Hope you had your PVR set to tape it.

Sure luck plays a part. Heck we hit the post twice within two minutes. Imagine if one had gone in? Would have been easier on my heart.

It seems when we loose people question our skill, passion, our system etc. Remember, the Americans, Russians, Swede's, Fins...etc. come over and play in our junior leagues. It's not like when we played the Soviets in 72. Their system, against ours. Had the Americans won, it still would have been our system that won. Same with the Russians....but there is always a good feeling about beating the Russians whether they play our system or not. If we go back to amature players, would the games be as close, or would it be like the womens league....two teams and the rest blowouts?

They said 26 million Canadians watched the game, 80% of the country I read that more Americans watched the game than every World Series final since 2004, every NBA final since 1998 and every final four of the NCAA since 1999.
