Four car wish list

I tend to dream a bit during the winter and was thinking of my plans for this spring of building a 4 car garage. Well, of course I will have to fill it with Oldsmobiles when it is finished, though that may take a few years. My 63 Starfire will occupy one stall, getting it out of the barn that it occupies with the tractors and Lawn mowers. So now I am thinking, what other years & model Olds would compliment the Starfire. The one common trait would be that they would be high performance, as is the Starfire. Years ago I had a 69 442 convertible but had to sell it because of a job loss. So maybe another, a 68 or 69 442 convertible? I also like the 81 to 87 442 or Hurst with t-tops. So, what would be a good match for the fourth? Or should I re-think the 442's and stay with the big cars? I would like to have ideas and why they would be a good match.
What would be your 4 dream cars?

Well you can tell I'm parcial to the '67s but the '68 is really kind of unique. It was a one year only body style that carried the swooping rear fenders into the next four years. If it were me, I wouldn't be looking for an original 442. You'll pay way too much for the rarity, if it's original. Just stuff a hot motor in it and make it exactly how you want it. Unless your planning on purchasing a numbers matching trailer queen for investment purposes, with the notion of selling it in the future, go wth a Culass Supreme or F85.

Well on Christmas Eve they are drawing for 50 million tax-free dollars and I've got my Lotto-Max ticket. Boy, if I win...... I'll definitely need a new, bigger garage.

Make sure you have plenty of overhead clearance, then you can double stack and put 8 cars in there. that will make your list easier.

A guy in our club has two of the four you're looking at. He has a 1969 Hurst/Olds, a 1970 442 W30 Convertible but no 68's or 66's. He does however have a 1969 442 W30 convertible 4 spd.

Then I'll have to make my money by suing the woman who sold me the ticket. I asked for the winning one and she said "Here it is." Geeze, you just can't trust people anymore....and it's Christmas.....

I've also been dreaming about building a 3 car garage on "the lot" high enough for a lift. Regretfully, Dan bought the winning lotto ticket before I could find it.
I'd love to fill it with:
67 442 post
68 Vista Cruiser + (H/O style)
68 98 ragtop
68 Delta Custom (turquoise)
73-75 H/O

I need a warehouse.

At the risk of costing you many, many hours of surfing and sending you into garage bliss...

have you checked out:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7

Some of the stuff on here is just incredible. One thing I have noticed though in perusing the gallery, is the very conspicuous lack of Oldsmobiles in these garages. Maybe you can do your part by adding your soon-to-be-new-Olds-filled garage to the gallery.

As far as what to put in your garage, you may have to put up a bunch of pics and throw darts to help you select. There's just too many.

My 4 would be:
1970 Cutlass Supreme Indy 500 Pace Car
1970 Cutlass Supreme SX
1970 Cutlass Supreme factory 4-speed
1970 Vista Cruiser

Good luck to you.

If ever I won a lottery a warehouse still wouldn't be large enough for the cars I'd like to have. Four years ago I built a 6 car garage and today it's not big enough

Kevin, did you by chance drive in the caravan to Lansing for the 100th? There was a Kevin there that had a Pace Car but he was from California. People move, so I'm asking.

I don't play the lotteries but a family a few doors down from me just won $500,000. Not a ton of money today but would help me fill my dream garage with:
`71 442
`70 Vista
`87 442
`91 Calais 442

Wayne

Wink

My best friend and I started a "If I ever win the lottery" wish list. Needless to say it is WAY long. I definitely couldn't find 4 top cars, heck I'd be hard pressed to find 4 dozen top cars. Here is a "short" list:
'68 Hurst Olds
'69 Hurst Olds
'70 Ralleye 350
'66 442 W30
'68 or '69 442 w/4 speed
I guess that is where I would start. If I think about it too long my list becomes very long. LOL!
