Found my car at lunch time

I managed to dig out my car. A lot of good it did, it's covered again already. We're getting about an inch a minute. Cleveland is letting workers go at 4:00 I heard. My a$$ (and the rest of me too) is outa here at 4:00 also, whether they like it or not.

At home this morning - drifting.

There was a sidewalk here....

I found it!

snow014.jpg

Made it to my car and shoveled around it.

The snow may be fluffy, but it's still darned heavy and it's cold out there!

snow018.jpg

Clean for a little while!

Who is that masked gal?? Dressed for the elements....

No snow here (thank ya Jesus!) but down to 16 tonight and 13 tomorrow night, with wind chills in the single digits.

Global warming my patooty.

CutlassGal: Trying to make you feel good; last night down to 28, Wednesday's high will be 70 and sunshiny! Tried that white stuff for 7 years when I lived up in Delaware, OH, and got really tired of it - especially winter of '78 (or '79, can't remember); 90 mph winds, snowed for 3 days, 15 foot drifts, couldn't get out of the house for 3 days straight, no electricity; go outside to check on things on the CB radio (all that worked) and between the front door and the van (25 feet), nose would run onto mustache, wipe my mustache, and it would break off in my glove! That's too damned cold! Moved back to Texas in '80. February this year brought back too many bad memories (13 inches). Chin up, it's only 4 months until April........LOL1 Aron

It's wintertime, what do you want?, an egg in your beer?

What don't kill you makes you stronger, all those thin blooded southerners, southwestern sand people and leftern coasters will be the first to go when the going gets tough.

I guess we have it pretty easy so far in Alberta. Here's what it looks like around here...

From inside the garage looking out. (Not using the van so it's been parked since Oct.)

See, there is snow on our Intrigue too.

I can tell ya that I don't miss that at all. I grew up in Chicago and had WAY too may of those days.

I remember the winter of 78/79. We missed two weeks of school because the city was completely shut down. They didn't get the side streets cleared for all of that time so we couldn't get to school. The drifts were half way up the house (2 story) and we were making tunnels in the front yard. It was CRAZY!

We may get a lot of +100 degree days in Texas but you don't have to shovel heat. That weather has to get old real fast.

You can't build snowmen, have snowball fights, sled ride or snowboard and ski down heat either, it's fun!
You can dress for the weather and stay warm , you can't dress to stay cool when it's a hundred degrees outside.
We're expert drivers too, you guys get a little snow and it's sissified death grip on the steering wheel panic time.
Who shovels?... unless their snowblower belt breaks.

Can you imagine what a native to the Amazon River basin from say, central Brazil would do if thrust into that kind of snow and cold? His blood is so thin, probably never wore shoes in his lifetime. It is all relative and every one of us get acclimated to our environment.

Believe it or not this year we actually got like three or four days of snow. Snow men were going up everywhere. You could tell we werent used to it. As for the driving yes we have alot of wrecks but its usually when its frozen rain and not snow. In the snow we dont do too bad.

I have to live here now, but I ain't gotta like it, lol!! It's just snowing a little this morning. Schools are closed again because of the wind chill. I had to pick up Nicole at work this morning, and the roads were still very *****y!! Much better when I came to work. Lots of ice under that snow. Saw lots of SUV's on their sides in the ditches last night and this morning. I used Larry's truck, and still slid!

I liked the snow better when I was young, and wanted to get out in it!

back in the day the best thing about the snow was the donuts in the parking lots without messing up your tires. Oh and I love the Olds Banner in the garage..

Oldsguy is correct when he says you get acclimated to your environment. I lived most my life in Columbus and would not think twice about snow or cold. But after living in Florida for the last 15 years I'm freezing and it's only 32! We had a low of 27 last night with a wind chill in the teens. I'm glad I postponed my trip home to Columbus this week!
