Gee, I don't know whether to congratulate you or offer my sympathies. Oh well, at least you'll still be working in a field of expertise? Good luck with your new job. Only wear it till it doesn't feel good. You know the drill, and for heavens sake watch out for your health. No need to start creating stress where you don't need it.

I agree about the health thing. I think my wife was getting tired of me hanging around the house so much. I finished all the honey do's this past year.

Then it's time for road trips or a new project! Of course you could always send the wife on a vacation....

Can you imagine how much grief it would be to try and tune a carb at that height?

Interesting post. As a cyclical lurker on this site, I'll bump my post count to 69 and weight in for once - for a .0099006% personal content record. Getting sooooo close to my goal of 1/100th of a percent!

This is my go-to site for checking in on the car hobby, even though I don't consider myself exclusively an "Olds" guy. I find this site has a great balance of information, encouragement, and humor - and usually without the ego/bickering that shows up on these forums.

IMO, forums such as these do help sustain the collector car hobby. Although I haven't done any projects worth talking about for three years or so due to family/work schedules - or inherent laziness - I do enjoy reading about peoples projects and new purchases. It totally keeps it alive for me, especially since no one in my circle is into restoring or even owning collector cars.

So thanks to all the regular posters, as well as the people who take the time to post their projects and project photos in detail. I always learn something when I check in here. Plus, I've picked up some new vocab from CO over the years - I refer to the MAW's and Chinesium all the time now....

I get Sooooo emotional . you guys are choking me up! Just kidding.. This is a great site and this is a great thread. I have been a subscriber for a couple of years now. Learned enough here to have my 72 vert back on the road in less than 2 years from a frame off. Some of the top posters on this thread I now consider friends. Eric good luck with the new endeavor. Allan pace yourself and enjoy retirement. Joe, tell me again. Where do the orange and pink wires go that are taped to the steering column?
