Ha I thought this would be about all the nasty stuff all over the walls and bed etc... that scares me...seriously I guess I won't make fun of the wife for locking everything available on the door she'll probably be stuffin' towels in the handle now

So, security is only as good as what a break in artist can't conquer. I think they should electrify the door handle so that only the card swipe can deactivate the field. Either that or have a guard hyena or python that will scare the crap out of them.

BTW, did you notice that most hotel corridors are just like that? Not well lit, and mostly devoid of traffic? Question is, how do you know which room to pick? Gotta follow the guest up in the elevator and keep on walkin when they stop at their room....Jeez I think I'm starting to think like a crook

I'll be using towels in the handle from now on. but with my luck they'll just shoot the lock open or break in through a window.

What you do is get the towel wet. Put it on the door handle. The crooks see a puddle of water on the floor they know not to try that room or the slip and fall break there neck. Either way your good.

That old nasty wood door looks like it's been kicked in a few times, the whole place is seedy, probably a luxury spa for Americans.
You could lean on that thing hard and break it open.
A fire would worry me more than a guy breaking in the room at that dump. If they raided the mini-bar that could be some big bucks, five dollar mini-bar bags of Fritos add up.

Most hotel rooms have inside deadbolts or night locks on the doors so that thing would be useless.
If you want to get in a room there are easier ways that that, just ask the cleaning lady that's always in the hallway.
