Congrats John!
I retired at 52 when I got my 20 and turned 65 yesterday. I would not change anything. Thank god the wife loves her job.
Enjoy your retirement.
Steve

I'm 54 and wife is 53. She's eligible at 56 and would get a good public pension. I farm and plan on doing so until my wife is eligible to retire, at which time we will consult our financial adviser and take stock of our assets. We both would like to call it quits before 60, probably will.

Was 55 and blew out my back, forced into retirement. Didn't want to go but could not stand the same bunch of bath stewards for the last 36 years. Got back done and year later working at a warehouse doing delivery and stocking. punch the clock, do what need done, punch the clock go home. Life was good. Then wife got cancer, wore us out getting it taken care of,then later round 2 same verse same song. I just got home after finding out I have the A-fib, don't know if I have limits, but I've always pushed limits my whole life, may have to slow down even if I don't want to.
BEST ADVICE: If you can retire do it! don't wait any longer than you have to.

Hoping you and your wife have a good year.

Life has a way of screwing up plans.

X2 on the do it as soon as you can. Most people think their younger than they are. If you wait two years that could easily be 10-20% of your remaining active years.
