Question Anyone know more about "CEO retirement gift" Custom Cruiser?

This thing has been on eBay for a few weeks now [http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=130649870766] and I keep checking it out in a sort of horrified fascination with what it might be and why it looks the way it does.

I cannot find any information on this car apart from the auction description...

"For auction is my Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Wagon. Build in its last year of production, 1990, for the CEO of Oldsmobile as a retirement gift. This is the cleanest Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser anywhere! The interior looks as good as new. Perfect upholstery and carpets, top of the line interior by Fisher Coachworks, which was a factory option for the Oldsmobile line of cars. Everything works like new. Original paint and original 70k miles on engine. Updated wood trim. Custom side-pipe exhaust, exits under rear doors both sides. The wagon is lowered for that perfect Custom look, air suspension in rear and short springs in front. Drives like a dream! Wheels are custom made one of a kind chrome steelys, with late 1940's Oldsmobile Hubcaps. Tires are staggered Whitewalls, tire tread is as good as new 95%. A rare opportunity to own a very original and extremely rare wagon."

...so I'd be grateful to anyone here that might know the story behind this car and why it, for instance, features those ridiculous wheels/tires.

There's a story here, I'm sure of it. But I don't want to go chasing this thing down without at least SOME independent verification.

Thanks in advance...

That is all you got for being the CEO? Today they get millions and millions.

My impression: It's a load of BS.

He knows it was made for the olds CEO, but he doesn't even know the name of the CEO.
If he has documentation, it has a name on it.
If not, then his word is worth nothing.

Someone put some stupid crap on an old wagon and wants to try to jack up the price.

Good luck.

ps: the iron cross keychain shows this guy is a class act.

It all sounds like a bunch of bull to me.
Somebody messed up a nice wagon IMO.

The last year of Custom Cruiser production was 1992 for one thing.
Fisher Body did all the interiors, Fisher Coachworks is basically the same company wiith a name change in 2008.

He's not correct about the "last year of production," either. It might have been the last year for that body style, but the Custom Cruiser was made through 1992.

From the pics I don't think it has a power bench and I don't think that was the top of the line interior. I don't know these cars well but wasn't the switch on the side of the seat? Wouldn't the CEO get a fully loaded car?
Paint looks worn, his story is BS, its way to expensive, but overall I like the car.

I see a power seat control in the armrest next to the window switches. I think I see one in the passenger door also and this is a 60/40 seat.

It was the last year for a RWD car powered by a real Oldsmobile-sourced motor, however.

That is a power seat control in the armrest. Also, what's the deal with blanking out the license plate in ebay ads? Do you cover the plate when you drive the car on the street also?

Can I take shots at the car with the story?

First off, if the car had a verified history, why on earth would you modify it with air ride suspension, goofy wheels, and custom exhaust.

Agree with above, it was verified as a CEO the seller would know the name.

Why a Custom Cruiser? Of all the things in the Olds stable that were new, fresh, exciting, GM or even Olds retires one of it's CEOs with a Custom Cruiser? Bravadas were the new rage...

As a CEO... No disrespect to Olds, but Vette, Cadillac for Luxury and space, a Truck??

Without papers, it's a nice station wagon that needs some different wheels.

Never noticed that in the wagons before...

Is there anyone that has a better picture of the arm rest area with those in them?

Looks like an interesting upgrade for the ole Delta here... hehehehe
