This is an interesting scrap yard.

They even have an virtual tour.

The best thing for me is, they have parts for my '67 Delta Custom.

Thumbs up

I got a tailpanel for my Hurst from them a few years back. I thought it was a bit expensive, but considering Memmer wouldn't budge off $650 for his NOS one with no backup lights or reflectors, I guess $300 shipped wasn't all that bad. It was near perfect and came crated to where an A-bomb wouldn't have hurt it!

And I could not have had mine replated for what I paid the guys in Tejas!

I was quoted 46 bucks for one rusty cruise servo bracket. Those are not too uncommon. I got one for 5 bucks at a closer yard with a dead servo on it.

The yard has some true potential, but their very high prices have consumers finding stuff elsewhere.

It is right next door to Northstar Dragway...

Yup you have to reeeeeeeally want something if you get it from thier. I picked up a 64 Fairmount about 7 years ago to do a little work on and flip. It needed the back glass replaced do to some punk kids in the PO's hood. Just to see I called the CTC "gold" ranch. Yea we got one $400.00 plus crate and ship. I said I was local and will bring cash what the best you can do? The quote I got back " I said its $400 if you don't want it someone else will. We ship most of out stuff overseas"

That was the first and last time I tried them. I ended up finding a glass for $50.00 a few days later.

They are very expensive. We bought a front brake drum for a 54 Olds when we went to Oklahoma to get a parts car so we could get it on the trailer. $90 and I had to go pull it. They have lots of stuff there but crazy prices. I haven't been back.

Good Comments! Thanks!

I was able to get a stainless steel right rear wheel well molding from them for my 67 Delta Custom ($75.00).
Billions & Trillions wanted $675.00 for the two stainless wheel well molding pieces.

I still need the front right molding (closest to the wheel well opening). If you know where I can find one please let me know.

I was also able to purchase the cornering lamps for the car ($75.00 each)..

After the guy from Billions & Trillions told me that they wanted $675.00 for two stainless steel wheel well molding pieces I said, "I think that is a little bit too much for me". The next thing I heard on the phone was, CLICK!

I love these kind of places

they make even my brother's prices seem quite reasonable indeed.

The B&T guy is quite a character.
One of them guys that prefers to die with the stuff rather than sell it, unless the buyer has Leno-Pockets.

It would be nice but I do not think they will let you go in without an escort.
A buddy of mine went there to hopefully get a tailgate for a Pinto wagon. At 450 clams for a rusty one, he refused and found one elsewhere for 50..
Unfortunately at their prices, that stuff will mostly rot away before it becomes useful to fix someone's car.

I don't understand places like this. It just doesn't make logical business sense. Maybe they deal in other products.

The strategy is simple: It is more profitable to sell a part for $500, than sell 5 of the same part for $100.

And, if they develop a customer base that has deep pockets, the high prices are not an issue.

For folks who want a fair deal, these are not the places to go.

GM Sports Salvage in Cali does the same thing.

Wow - a business thats for profit. The car sales business would rather sell 5 and make 100 a pop than one for 500. Who'd a thunk it?

The only difference in the scenarios is that a new car dealer can order more product - unlimited supply to a point.

The salvage yard has a limited supply - they ain't making that stuff anymore.

So, I believe that my comment is accurate......

I can see this on items for popular makes and models.
But 450 for a rusty tailgate for a Pinto? Where is the demand, let alone the $$$?
My buddy is doing a frame off on his, has a good income, but still does not see the value in that.

The will let you walk around for the most part. I have been around that yard a few times but never seen the whole thing yet. They have so much stuff its unreal but someone must be buying it for him to sell. I don't think they know what all is in the yard but its mostly organized. Sad to see some cars that were decent to become chopped up hulls.

Guys:
I also tried to deal w/ both CTC and GM w/ no luck on sheetmetal for 66/67 Cutlass, metal was decent but the asking prices were obscene. It makes no sense for guys to ask these kind of prices, I know they have alot of overhead to cover. Sooner or later someone will come to their senses hopefully.

They've let me go in and look around. There is a sign that says it costs $2 or $5, I don't remember but they have never charged me. I needed a Monza hatch for the rear glass and they quoted $450 for a rusty hatch and claimed the glass was unavailable new. I bought one new the very next day at Binswanger glass in Dallas for around $75 and they had 3 in stock. You can't always believe what they tell you that's for sure. I've had some bad experiences going there but the last 2 or 3 times they have been extremely nice in person and actually accomodating. The prices are still too high but the owner says most parts go over seas to the Scandanavian nations and since he can get those prices from them, we all get quoted those same prices.

They had 2 or 3 67 parts cars when I was there 5 or 6 months ago.
