Cruise-in in Arnold, MO today, 3/24/24

Hi guys,

I went to my 1st car event of the season today, a non-judged cruise in at a BBQ place in Arnold, MO, about 20-miles south of St. Louis. The weather was not great, about 50'ish and gusty, which probably explains the mediocre turnout from what we usually see around here.

I had fun, I was anxious to get my car out and show off the repro SSI's I just put on it. It was really nice just to be behind the wheel again. Added bonus, I got a $50 gift certificate to the BBQ place for being the Manager's Choice, I'll take it! Not alot to show, but here's a few pics.

Nope, saving it for another day, but we'll be anxious to try it, we've heard it's very good.

Oldsmobile is standing tall. Lemme guess- you had the only Olds there.

Digging the 66 Coronet and its simulated mag wheelcovers. DK which supplier made those for the carmakers but I've seen versions of them on Dodge, Plymouth, Buick, Chevrolet and Fords. Good looking wheel treatment.

Thanks for the congrats on the gift certificate and compliments on my car, they are much appreciated. You're welcome for the pics.

Truthfully, I'm not much of a Mustang fan either, but the pics I posted were actually all the cars that were there. Like I said, a very poor turnout, and it wasn't like it was miserable out.

John - You certainly do! With your knowledge of these cars and skills, I'm sure it wouldn't be a tough task for you, you just need the time. Sounds to me like a priority project for when you retire. I'm rooting for you to get her back on the road!

rocketraider - Thanks for the compliment on my car, and yep, the only Olds there. I wasn't surprised I was the only Olds there with the poor turnout. Thanks for checking it out.

Here's some Olds for everybody, an aerial pic of our St. Louis Old's Club's All Oldsmobile Show last fall.

Dream67, since you posted another photo of Oldsmobiles, thought I’d share one that you (and others) may enjoy, sorry for the mini hijack.

Mine was the only Oldsmobile at a local show Saturday until this guy rolled up late, car number 106 of the day, and what a beauty - driven new off the showroom floor in East Providence, Rhode Island. Very pleasant couple, they especially enjoyed chatting with my 92 year old father.

vCode442 - No problem with the mini hijack, actually I appreciate getting to see another beautiful '67. There were 3 different air cleaners that came on '67 4-4-2 's depending on whether the car was manual or automatic, and when it was made. That late production year automatic trans air cleaner on that car is very hard to come by, it was only put on the last 2 production months of '67 cars. I wish I had one for my car, guys want an arm and leg for them if you can even find one! Thanks for checking out my thread and your post!

OK, you got me smartarse, I was not counting the OAI on the W-30 optioned cars, or the Climatic Combustion Control (CCC).

Thanks for the pictures Chris. The SSI's look nice on your car. Did you notice a difference in the ride

Keith - You're welcome for the pics and thanks for the compliment on the SSI's. It may just be my imagination, but I thought maybe there was a slight improvement in ride with the SSI's. The best thing about driveability with the 15" SSI's is no longer having to worry about the potential for a slight inner front fender tire rub at full lock like I did with the 17" wheels/tires that were on there. Here's a good side by side comparison of the two.
