Looking for the correct license plate mounting screws and the 2 small rubber bumpers that attach to the rear bumper for the license plate frame for my ‘70 W-30 restoration.
I’m still searching for the correct rear shocks. Must be close to 12.75” compressed and 20.88” extended. I tried Fusick’s and a few others - they are NG. They are all too long when the car is on a lift - causing the rear springs to unseat.
Regarding your shocks, if you have the original shocks they can be rebuilt. I had my shocks rebuilt all the way around on my W30--very satisfied with them. All that is involved is time and money, but you are rebuilding a W30, so you know what I mean. While I waited, I installed a cheap set on the car until the rebuilt shocks were returned.
No affiliation with this guy whatsoever, but he did a good job for me. It took forever for delivery because he was backed up at the time. In the end he delivered just as he promised. He was not late, and the price was the agreed price too, which by the way, he will want some of the money upfront, so be prepared for that.
Your shocks look great. I spoke to Dan this morning - he’s backed up about 10 months. He sounded busy on the phone but I’m a little confused. If you do not have your original shocks he supplies a set for you and the total cost is $600. Where does he get the shocks from ? Btw the deposit that he requires is $100.
From what I understand he has collected used spiral shocks most of his adult life, if one can believe that. Anyway, that is what is stated on his website, so he must pull them from his stockpile. I had my shocks so I was not worried about all that.
For what it is worth, I waited 7-months and thought that was a long time. Like I said, you can always use a cheap set to get by if your car will be ready before the rebuilt shocks are.
In my opinion, if you are after the look, the original shocks are the way to go, they have a neat appearance installed, and I'm very pleased with the way they ride.
