Does anyone on here use computer glasses? Are the Gunnars really worth the extra money?

to be honest I just use shooting glasses they are the same thing and cheaper.

computer glasses make it easy on the eyes when on a computer for a long time.

When you get to be our age, I think you call them "reading glasses."

I thought computer glasses were reading glasses that had a longer focal distance than you would use for regular reading...But do I know, I'm almost working on braille....Tedd

 

They filter out some of the light that causes eyestrain (allegedly). My new job has me on a computer most of the time and it is kicking my eye's ***. I've installed a small program that reminds me to take 20 second breaks every 20 minutes, but I am hoping the glasses would help more. I just don't want to spend $80 on the Gunnars if the $25 cheapies work just as well (or if they don't work at all).

So the shooting glasses seem to work well? I don't have any so I would have to invest in those anyway.

BTW, reading glasses I already have, they don't help me with the computer though.

 

Shooting glasses do have good UV protection but GOOD shooting glasses are not cheep ether.The good ones have properties added that you would never use/ need on a computer and I'm sure it would cost more than regular glasses with UV protection.

I went ahead and ordered a $35 pair of Pyramex off of Amazon. I guess I'll see how they work. They claim they help cut glare of nighttime driving, so if they don't help out with the computer, I can try them for that.
