Charity Car Show for First Responders, 6/22/25

Hi guys,

Went to a very nice car show today to benefit First Responders (Backstoppers Org.). This Show meant alot to me because one of my Son-in-Laws is a firefighter/paramedic.

The format for the show was Top 25 all years/makes/models of cars and trucks together. The MC said there were 263 entries. I felt very fortunate to make the Top 25. There will be 3 posts of pics, so please hold off on any comments until I get the 3rd post in. Hope you enjoy them.

Nice photo arrangement, thanks!

Congrats on being in the top 25 out of 263, that exceeds being in the top 10%.

Thanks Chris. I have a couple favorites. The Plum Crazy Duster, the Jeep, the fire truck to name a few.

Thanks for sharing Chris. Nice turn out. I like the layout of the show in the streets vs parking lot, better for the local business I would think

Thanks for the pics. Whole lot of shiny.
The Nomad parked next to you - not a good prop to have at a car show, someone could come along and bump into that and it would be a bad day for the owner of the car it falls into.

Norm/Mike/Keith/Art - Thanks for checking out the pics and the compliments, glad you enjoyed them!

Mike - My favorite Mopar there was the Challenger 340 R/T w/Six Pack. As you can see from the pics there were alot of beautiful Mopars there.

Keith - I really liked the downtown setting too. They have a very nice "Old Town" section where the show was held. I know the local eaterys appreciated it, many had smaller carts outside the establishments selling food inside and out. I think alot of owners opted to go inside just to get some A/C for awhile.

Art - It's always hard to tell from pictures, but that Nomad requested a little extra space for his display, and it was granted. There were no worries that any of his stuff might topple and hit his or anyone else's car. He had fake drive-in window trays on the other side that looked very realistic. He ended up winning the Best Display Special Award.

Apparently, there is an entire cottage industry and fandom for General Lee recreations. I am not a MOPAR person, but, if I were, I could consider restoring one into such.

The 54 Corvette is an interesting animal. The Blue Flame 6 is a pretty engine. Very overshadowed by the small V8 coming in 55s. I think, of the original generation, I would like a 55 or a 57.

John - Thanks for checking out the pics and your comments. Think I've mentioned this before but there is a big MOPAR culture here in the greater StL area because we had 2 MOPAR plants here for many years. I've seen at least 3 different General Lee clones in this area. One time all 3 were at the same mega (+450 cars) cruise-in on the same night. That 54 Corvette was a beautiful car.
