Cautionary Tale

Hopefully the seller took enough of a beating on this that nobody else will try it.

What a shame, I remember seeing these type of monstrosities when I was younger. Didn't understand it then and still don't understand it today. And in this case they had to do it to a real 442 rather than a run of the mill Cutlass. Incredible.

Bid up to $26,000 November 2024.

Hopefully my buddy Bob Kerr bought it. He's an Indy Mecum volunteer driver along with a great many other skills and trades.

I used to like cars built like that back when all was cheap. I remember a '63 Lincoln suicide door on a 4x4 frame with a snow plow on the front! Well anyway, maybe that car was built from a bunch of pieces and not really a waste of a nice 442??? Did it sell for 26,000?

Pretty cool. I remember seeing a 62 station wagon years ago that was converted to 4x4.

It has a 4-4-2 VIN and paperwork, including whatever the seller considers to be a build sheet.

Sold for $15,400 and lucky to get it.

Maybe it comes down to Hot Wheels guys vs Matchbox. And wanting a life size version of a childhood favorite...

I was always more of a Matchbox guy.

😬

Greg if it did sell for 26k (Metzger only states bid up to). 40% hit in 6 months.
