I was able to get my car out to it's 1st judged show of the season yesterday. It was a charity event for Make a Wish Foundation and was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus in the small town of Cadet, MO 65-miles South of St. Louis.
There was a great turnout and the MC said they had 254 paid entries. They had a BOP Class so that's what I entered my '67 in. The judges had some nice cars to choose from in the BOP Class, and they chose one of each (BOP) for the 3 places they were giving out. A really nice '70 Pontiac GTO Ram Air III Judge took 1st, I placed 2nd, and a very nice '69 Buick GS 400 Vert placed 3rd.
I displayed my framed copy of my car's NFL story that was in JWO last January for the 1st time, and spectators really seemed to enjoy reading it and want to find out more which led to nice discussions. It was a really enjoyable day until the drive home around 5pm when I hit torrential thunderstorms on the way home, luckily there was no hail. Now just lots of cleaning and detailing before the next judged show this coming Saturday.

Keith and Norm - Thanks for the congrats, much appreciated!
This was also the car's 1st judged show with the SS1's on it. I don’t have any hard proof they made any difference in the judging, but I had spectators tell me they looked nice and were in great shape. I really appreciate you guys who encouraged me to pull the trigger and put them on.

As I said in a previous discussion I think the SSI wheels look much better. They demonstrate a solid '67 aesthetic stance to the vehicle.
Congrats on the prize. Too bad about the ride home.
I don't think I'll get to go to any shows this year. My car needs an exorcism, every time I open the garage door and look at it something else breaks or something I already fixed breaks again. And when it's fixed and ready to go it rains.

Art - Thanks for the congrats on the trophy, very much appreciated. I wish you the best of luck getting your car sorted out. We've had a ton of rain here too lately in St. Louis, and you sure can't count on the weatherman. Hope you can get out to a show soon!
Just my personal opinion but I think your car looks 10x better with the aftermarket SSI wheels.
Thanks for your opinion on the SSI's, I agree 100%. Wasn't sure I would like them as much, but I am sure glad I finally pulled the trigger and put them on at the encouragement from many on here.

Thanks James! I am not a fan of Redlines, except for on a Red cars like yours, or potentially a white or black car with red interior. I just don't think they'd look right on an Aqua car. I've always liked raised white letter, and when I decide to replace the BFG's, I'm thinking of getting some Mickey Thompsons.

I like BFGs other than the letters go brown, and Cooper Cobras on my other car are good.

John - l like the ride of the 245/60/15 BFGs that are on the car now better than the 235/55/17's that were on it. The letters on the BFGs are dingy, but I'm gonna try the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on them and see how it works. My buddy put the Mickey Thompson rwl Sportsmans on his '66 Vette last year and he loves them.
