Break into your garage in 6 seconds?
My cousin sent these links to me...easier for the thieves to see the emergency latch if you have windows on your garage door. The fix...a zip tie as seen on the first link. Going to grab a zip tie now!

Doesn't matter, you can just wrench on the door to over come the safety ratchet system in the electric door opener anyway. That's the system that stops and ratchets the opening mechanism to avoid squishing infants. I have removed my door openers completely. I run a bolt through the track and into the wheel housing to lock it. Of course my garage is my shop and I don't park my daily driver in it. If the spring mechanism that lifts the doors is adjusted properly, t'aint nothing to lift the door manually anyway.

Thanks for that story. I've not seen a solution that easy since I first heard of this problem.
The bolt idea is a good one. If you don't feel like getting out the tools, use a C clamp, fast and easy.
When thinking of security, don't forget about your front door, Or any door. Lock bumping is scary
