FWIW, the one in Greenland that burned up was actually a B-29. Very sad though... they were like an hour away from takeoff. Ridiculously close to achieving their goal when it went up in flames.

As I recall, there was some sort of heater in the rear of the plane, which tipped over and started the fire that turned it into a pile of melted aluminum.

I would like to hear the story of the B-17 off Highway 99, if you want to tell it.

Well folks, I finally got a new computer (Ok, lets be honest, my wife got a new computer) and was able to download the pictures from the Galespie Field air show that started this whole thread. Here they are, as promised.
