Deer and Elk season has been over here for several weeks as Game Dept in WA, ID and Wyo where I've hunted don't allow hunting during the rut period in Nov. Glad you're knockin' it out of the park as long as you eat what you shoot.

We have too many and they are small and tasty. This is late rut and snow on ground.
Lotta people here need the meat so they can get little Johnny a Christmas present, or have cash for their heating bill. Me, I need Olds parts.

How many deer can one person take in a WV season?
The average hunter here is limited to one deer, one elk. Sometimes either sex but mostly antlered game only. I've heard in Mississippi and a few other States it is like one a day during long seasons but that sounds exaggerated.

Mule deer in Wyo. and Idaho are larger as you no doubt know but in Western WA. where I live the Blacktail is fairly small. Not much larger than an antelope. As a result a lot of hunters concentrate on elk and don't bother shooting blacktail deer.

Depending on where you live here in Texas you can take anywhere from 1 to 6 deer. I hunt in NE Texas and we have some restrictions on bucks regarding spikes and horn width measurements but it is essentially a 2 buck-2 doe zone. And yes, in Louisiana you can take a deer a day.

In my county regular gun season you can harvest 2 bucks, 3 does.
Early does, late Oct 3days. Buck and doe Nov25-Dec7, doe Dec19-21 and Dec28-31
Can get 2 per day before check in.
That does not include archery or smokepoles.
I am a landowner on my land and need no license or stamps.
I believe we lead the country on roadkills of whitetails

I'm in a muley and black tail area and the herd count is down considerable from years past. I never saw a buck in the zone I drew. I understand white tails in some southern and north eastern states are multiplying at a huge rate and need culling to keep the roads safe and to keep the herds from eating themselves out of house and home, wish I was there to help them out....Tedd

PS. got three pheasants today though.

Send some to East TX so my neighbors can get some!
They have been to the lease 4 weekends in a row and only saw two, each 300 yards away. They will be there 3 days this holiday weekend so hopefully they will get one.
If they get more than two big'uns, the next will be all summer sausage - my favorite!

I am reporting you to PETA for that comment - People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.
They got two hogs so far, but they have enough sausage for a year. Time for another variety...
I have been out hunting in my backyard the past 3 weeks, but for less exciting critters - mouse.
Confirmed death count is 27 and climbing.
