Any favorite Christmas gifts?

Did any of you folks get something that wowed you this year? Car stuff or not, what was it?

My 87 year old father gave me his fathers straight razor and shaving mug. That made everything else small in comparison.

My Christmas present came a little over a month early, is a duplicate decal sheet from the original series Enterprise filming models, saved by the model builder since 1964, and later his daughter (who I bought it from). She has one other, which she told me she plans to donate to the Smithsonian. The extra decal sheets were printed as a precaution against damage to the decals on the filming models, and indeed a few decals are missing from mine, which presumably were used for that purpose. The reverse lettering was used to depict the port side of the 11 foot model, which was unfinished (by flipping the negative).

Too bulky / dorky, though I am working on a replica of the original style ("Madison") office chair used as the basis of the "conn". Will use a swivel base of course.

I was going to see Will Shatner at the Rialto Theater in Joliet. There were no meet and greet tickets so I took a pass. I love that guy!

Nothing says "I love you" like fine spirits. Their Espresso came out in Sept. and all I can say is WOW. On the rocks.

I'm hard to buy for so I request alcohol in different forms.

Weekend race package for Watkins Glen in August from my wife. We'll have a seven hour Corvette roadtrip on that Friday (or maybe a couple days earlier) and then I'll leave the driving to others (motorcoach) for the rest of the weekend. Front stretch tickets up high for Saturday and Sunday races, so that should be great. Haven't been to the Glen since 2001.

My wife ordered me the beltline sealing strips for my 64/98. I was pretty stoked that she ordered them up for me. I just need to find time to work on it!

I have been into Civil War history lately, so I was surprised when I opened the gift from my brother. It was a cartridge box plate that is supposedly from the Wilderness, VA battle. It looks like a belt buckle. I bet it weighs 2-3 pounds by itself. I think it is lead backed. I need to read up on this battle.

My wife ordered me a dail back timing light so I can set up my new DUI distributer this spring. Its the summit brand dial back made by Xenon it has a better chrome finish on it than my Edelbrock rocker covers LOL. It came with a manual so I hope to get my timing set up a little better than my fading hearing this spring.

I'm hoping for a big blue block next year Retroranger, looks awesome.

Keep the posts coming !!
Cheers
Eric
