Any Dodge techs in the house ?????
My problem is a bit unique although I did do some research none of the symptoms matched mine and I need some input before I really dig at it. It's intermittent that's what's makes it tricky.
Copper does your overdrive delete light come on and the transmission shifts down to a non overdrive status without you doing anything(no depression of the downshift button on the shift lever) but it will go back to normal after it is shut off and cools down?.... Tedd
No , Thats the odd part. I had it once want to go into limp mode and the trans free wheeled but i popped it in neutral and it was as if nothing happened. of course the check engine light came on. I disconnected the battery to clear the code then it took a few days for it to come back on. it seems to wander in and out of overdrive . I had this issue with my old 94 dodge ram but it was a diesel and i by passed the the throttle valve bell crank with a potentiometer and dialed in when over drive came on .
one code is for the trans temp , one code is for the neutral safety switch being faulty which its not and the other is for 3rd gear ratio failure which sounds like my issue.
Im really light footed on the throttle and the wandering goes away if i get into it a bit more. im just curious if i found that sweet fail spot where the solenoids dont know what to do and the tcm goes nuts. I cleared the codes with the scanner at work to see what happens when the check engine light comes back on . If its one or all 3 that come up when scanning. as long as it passes emmisions im fine but i cant go in with a check engine light lol. the nice thing is it takes a few days for the light to come back on and after a while it goes aways so i either have a bad connection or a solenoid is going bad.
