Amusement parks, Anyone go to them?

My family just got back from a two day trip to Kings Island. I am simply amazed at the new roller coaster technology. The Beast will always be at the top of my list but these new ones like the Banshee and Diamondback are far beyond anything I have ever ridden. With my kids to short to ride anything big till this year I have not had the chance to ride the new stuff till now. Even the restraints that hold you in are more comfortable. The Banshee shoots you in so many directions and with a great sense of security from the restraints. If you ever get the chance to ride it I highly recommend the front seat on your first ride. The views are insane... Then they have the Delirium, It is a flat but is as good or better than the roller coasters. It is a pendulum like a big boat ride only on steroids X10. I have been going to Kings Island off and on for 35 years and this trip was the best ever. My girls faces when we ride are worth more to me than the rides themselves.

What are your favorite rides and where?

Cedar Point has some crazy ones also. The Top Thrill coaster only lasts (literally) about 19 seconds but you go 0-100 mph in like 4 seconds or so. They use the same steam catapult system that air craft carriers use I believe, or something real close to it. It shoots you straight up about 400 feet in the air also.
In Las Vegas, they have the Big Shot that is located at the very top of the Stratosphere (900 ft. tall or so) Hotel. It shoots you straight up in the air & when you first take off, you would swear the ride has broken & that you are going to be launched into the next county. Scares the crap out of me every time I ride it.

I love the old school wood coasters. But compared to the one's built over the last 15 years, it's like apple and oranges.

The new ones are great for the comfort level. I do like the suspended coasters the best. I have not been to Cedar Point for some time and desperately want to try the multi-dimensional coaster.

Parks I have been to: Cedar Point (coaster capital)
Kings Island
Michigan Adventure
Six Flags Valencia CA

I was on the Big Shot in 1999. It was great but they would not let me wear my glasses so I couldn't see much. Not been to Cedar Point since 1996, they have lots of crazy new stuff there sense I went. We just stick to Kings Island and Holiday World because of location but would like to go to some others someday. I am getting old enough it is starting to affect me more. Not sure if I will be able to ride them in another 5 or 6 years.

The new wood launch coaster at Dollywood looks like it will give some thrills.
