Albany Oregon Swap Meet

I know most of the members here are too far away to drive to Oregon for a swap meet. But for those who are close, I plan to have a booth in Albany November 16th. This is a one day only event, but for Oregon it may be the next largest in size after the Portland swap meet in April. If anyone is planning to go I would be willing to bring items your looking for or things that would be expensive to ship. Contact me ahead of time if you're looking for anything specific I could bring. John

There was a large turnout of people coming through. Only a couple of people had Oldsmobile parts, but I stayed at our both space and only walked around once. There was a beautiful black 1949 or 50 Olds for sale. I didn't take a lot of Oldsmobile stuff but had a lot of other manufacturers parts that I've collected over the years. I shared the booth space with a buddy who had a lot of toy and model cars. He sold almost everything! There were clearly more people interested in his stuff than mine! Once the bills were paid, gas & motel I probably made $300 which isn't a lot. But I had the chance to talk with 75-100 car guys who stopped to chat and that was a lot of fun. I know there's more swap meets up around the Willamette Valley than in my part of the state. I may try more in the coming year and also try heavy things like engine parts and larger things like doors and fenders. Shipping costs are still way higher than pre-covid so being able to sell something in person may help me thin out the collection better.

49 degrees, cloudy as of 1:25PM 11/27 with expected sunshine soon but that's as warm as it will get today. Expecting partly cloudy over the next six days with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the low 30s. Thank goodness, though, no rain expected over that time. It's fun to be dry every once in awhile!

Oregon is a pretty diverse state. The coast is very mild rarely getting snowfall. The western valleys have a lot of 30's-40's for lows and 40's-50's for highs in the winter. Then Central and Eastern Oregon are high desert with below zero at times in the winter. I have seen single digits in the western valleys but that's very rare. And we get four distinct seasons.

Yes, in a typical summer there will be 10+ days of triple digits and lots of 90's.
