1st convertible ride of the year

Yes its a big deal in the northeast when i finally get to take the 72 convertible out for a ride .Brought it in to work at lunch time and took the long way home.Everything is working just like when i put it away.I gotta say olds got it right with these cars ,and i dont mind the 273 gears cruising either(only when i want to light em up).Something about bringing a car back from the dead makes it a little more special on these rides .Hope everyone is enjoying their cars as much as i did today.

Glad you got to bring it out and enjoy it.

What a difference in temperatures between us! It's about time to put mine into hibernation for the summer.

Love my ragtops, been tooling around top down for a few weeks now. Managed to get a sunburn on my legs today, yep I'm officially in the summer shorts mode of attire. Man those legs look bleach white except the red blotches on the top. Keep on keeping on.... Tedd

It was 94 today but a cooling trend is coming. Did you have your mask on while driving ?

Got mine out last Friday night for the first time this year. Helena MT had a cruise night. A couple hundred cars turned out and cruised the main drags. People lined up along the roads beeping and waving. It was a ton of fun after being cooped up for a month. It was a bit chilly

Last three weeks rain on and off. Terrible cruise weather. Car is in the shop for brakes anyway. Like the 66. Stay safe.

Not Montana here, if so I’d have the top down. My dermatologist is a great guy but I’m tired of him cutting on me.

Things have been very temperate here in N.C. I never really had to put my convertible away for the winter. I don't think it stayed parked for longer than three weeks at a stretch from November through February. I even took a friend and her 10-year-old daughter out for a "sleigh ride" a week or so before Christmas. It was in the upper 40s and they wrapped up in blankets and drank hot chocolate while we rode around and looked at outdoor Christmas lights. Since March, I've been taking it out several times a week. It's been my means of escape while maintaining social distance. Beautiful weather, almost empty roads and dirt cheap gas have made for an irresistible convertible trifecta!

That's why hats and sunscreen were invented.

Got our 71 Vert out yesterday and drove to the Home Depot to order some stuff. It was too cold for top down though... But nice and sunny and car drove great!

Going to the Home Depot in my neck of the woods is an experience in itself these days

Been driving my '68 S several times to work this spring already, but last weekend swapped my toys on the lift to drive my (non-Olds) rag top. I was quickly reminded of the work that needs to be done on it this summer, A) rear axle is making bad noises and its getting worse (weak 7.5" 10-bolt can't take my driving style......I think I have an S60 in the near future), and B) driver's door window goes down OK, but won't go back up all the way in a single shot. The notoriously bad window motors' thermal cutout is getting worse........already have new motors, but C) need to get new door speakers too before I tear into it........want to kill 2 birds w/ 1 stone when I got the door panels off. But hey, the new A/C system I put into my 300C is working dandy now! Seems like my Olds is giving me the least amount of troubles this year already.

Wish I could be out there too. First off, the weather has been absolutely miserable this spring here in the Maryland. There is actually a freeze warning posted for Saturday night, and it has been raining hard every other day. Secondly, being deemed "mission essential" by the government means I get to go to work when most people get to stay home.

Yes I've heard all of the arguments of "be glad you have a job" and "they're still paying you at least". But 2 months of 70-80 hour weeks just so that I can cover for people that are sitting at home with their feet up (and still getting paid), wears on a guy.

Can't wait until the weather finally clears so that my wife and I can just cruise.

Hang in there Chip, I feel your pain, spent high school and college in northern Delaware - I’m a proud fightin’ Blue Hen. I do miss the four seasons but don’t miss the dreary weather. As I said down here in Florida my dermatologist loves to take his pound of flesh, but certainly the weather allows for much more top down driving - except in the dead of summer - once you get yours out post some pics 👍
