Removing 72 Cutlass A/C evap box?
Removing 72 Cutlass A/C evap box?
Who has removed the whole engine side AC box WITHOUT pulling the hood, fender or engine?
I am pretty sure it can be done as long as the inner fender is removed...
I am mainly wondering if it will come out the top or through the wheelwell?
Since i have the front suspension off, this will be the time to pull it if it needs to come out through the wheelwell.
Any ideas?

I sense the lid on the can of worms becoming loose.........

Main reason is that I am pretty sure the evap (or something in there) leaks freon - there is compressor oil dripping from that case. The air that blows through it stinks, so something may have died in there, also.

I plan to have the whole A/C system removed and restored next year, so if having the suspension off will help, then now is the time to do it.
I cannot pull fenders and hood by myself and there is no room in my tiny garage to even do it if I had help. Car is immobile now without wheels...
Now the CSM does not say to remove the hood or fenders. It says to remove the right "filler plate" which i assume is the plastic wheelwell. It makes no mention whether to pull the thing out through the wheelwell or through the top. Just looking to hear about someone's experience...
