dynamic 88 to olds 98

does anyone know if the A-frames and springs off of a dynamic 88 would fit a 98?

This is a guess, but I would say no. 88's & 98's have different bodies, wheel bases, etc. They are not cut from the same cloth.

While I think D. Yaros is correct, it would probably help it you would tell us the year of the car you're talking about.

Unfortunately, you're both wrong.

Within the same year ranges (61-64, 65-70, 71-76, and 77-90 RWD), the Eighty Eight and Ninety Eight frames and suspension are identical except for wheelbase. The Ninety Eight simply uses a stretched Eighty Eight chassis. Of course the Jetstar 88 used the smaller brakes and wheel lug pattern from the A-body cars, but the suspension arms are still the same as on the other B/C cars.

In my defense, I did say my statement was a "guess." And as has been properly pointed out, thankfully we have you, our resident expert, to get us back on the right path.

The '63-'64 "A" Arm lower are interchangeable between cars but everything else was Year specific.
If you Vehicle was a Ninety Eight, Super/Dynamic "88" or Starfire your year vehicle is interchangeable with each vehicle Model Of that specific year. Hope that helps you to clarify your Question?

I don't think there is such a thing. You'll need to acquire the various parts (ball joints, tie rod ends, center link, pitman arm, etc.) separately and then put them on. Ditto for the brake parts if you want to redo those, too, although brake kits that contain springs and clips and pins and so forth are available. But brake shoes would be purchased separately as would wheel cylinders.

If you don't have them, you really need the service manuals for '64 Olds. That year it was a 5-volume sent, and you want all five volumes. Service manuals come up for sale on ebay all the time.

Try www.fusick.com for a lot of what you might need but for almost every thing you'll be looking for go to www.kanter.com, they'll get you fixed up...

Don't overlook your local auto parts store, too. You'd be suprised what you can still buy at your local Autozone, NAPA, etc. Fusick is very good, but it tends to be pricey. I looked just now, and Autozone's website shows all sorts of front end parts available for a '64 Olds 98 (springs, ball joints, tie rod ends, centerlink, idler arm, and more). Most of them have to be ordered, so you'd wait a day or two, but you don't pay shipping as you would pick it up at the store, and if there is a problem, you can take it right back to the store for replacement or money back.

You don't have to drop the pan completely, just take out the front four bolts and loosen the next six bolts on each side and pry the pan down, that will give you the room you need to pull the Timing Chain Cover off the front of the Engine. You'll need a large two or three legged puller to get the Harmonic Balancer off.....
