Smile January Muscle Car Review

Anyone taken a close look at the January 2010 MCR?
On page 60 they have an article about chassis detailing on a 67 442.

Just wondered how "correct" members of the board found it to be.
Cheers.

I take everything that magazine prints with a shaker full of salt. Haven't read it in years because of the inaccuracies and sometimes outright boolshat they put out.

At one time they were a reputable outfit, then a bunch of punks 1) who weren't around when the cars were contemporary and 2) who bought into all the myths and urban legends surrounding them started writing and editing it and trying to pass it off as gospel.

I'm a GM guy for the most part, with a smattering of knowledge about the others. When I can read thru a 60s Ford article and find half a dozen outright errors, what do you think a diehard Ford guy can find?

They ran the same exact article about 10 years ago. Same pics and same captions by Jeff Lilly. Only beef is they didnt credit Walt for the pipes like they did the first time.

I think this should be in the general discussion forum.

Which really illustrates the caliber of the publication.

All (of the non-brand specific, at least) magazines truly epitomize the "Jack of all trades and master of none" saying. I enjoy seeing the cars, specifically other makes. But like watching sports and Barrett Jackson where you have to turn off the sound to keep from being irritated by the narration, reading the text is not necessarily value added.

Actually, there was a BOP mag in the early '90s. It never really got off the ground. Lacked sales.

Smile

I've got a few copies of that old BOP mag around somewhere. And some of the MCR of that era, before it was sold to Hot Rod and killed then later resurrected.

I just randomly picked up the Jan 2010 MCR mentioned above since I hadn't seen one in many years.
