Suspension
Hello all,
My buddy's 70 cutlass supreme was making knocking sounds from his drivers side front suspension. He needed new bushings so he installed them in the front and lower control arms on both sides and now when he drives he still hears the knocking.
Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Check the sway bar end link, I broke one on my truck a year or so ago, it would clunk while driving but when I would look under there the bolt was sitting in the correct spot on the a arm so you didn't notice it. It wasn't until I jacked it up and started to wiggle everything that I found it.

This is a long shot, but....
I had a 69 GTO with a pontiac style rear axle (axle bearing behind drum brake just like the Olds. rear. Anyway, I had a clunking sound coming from the front end (at least I was sure it was coming from the front, I could even feel it through the pedals). It ended up being a bad rear axle bearing. The bearing had failed and the rear axle shaft had been worn away under the bearing location. I would check them to make sure. When I jacked up the rear axle of my goat, I could feel a lot of play in the rear tire when I moved it up and down. Obviously a real dangerous situation if not checked.
Good luck.

Great! I'll check both of those but the end link maybe a good one.He did buy new ones and i remember when he put them in but they were a little too short. They went in fine but he could of used ones that were a little bit longer like the ones that came out.
