Strange chrome option?
Strange chrome option?
Hello,
I have a 70' w30.
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this chrome I have on my car. This chrome sits at the top of the door and has the door/window seal attached to it (window fuzzy). The peculiar part is that they are 3/4" thick. Not the usual pin strip. 2pcs per side. I am wanting to identify them in order to find new seals.
Thank you

Fyi
Option code B80. Found on 1970-1972 Cutlass variants.
CORRECTION B85 is the code as posted below
My 1972 W-30 is equipped that way. Good luck finding nice replacements.

B80: = Molding, Roof Drip
as it shows online search, I don't think that's the same 'option?

The door B85 molding is common to ALL Cutlass HT and vert coupes and 442. So finding donor moldings for the door shouldn't be that hard. BUT, the curved molding for the quarter is somewhat difficult to find, not impossible though. B85 also requires a special rubber component that attaches to the bottom of the anodized aluminum.
Here's a link to some that are currently listed on ePay. The dents can be removed, and the pieces will need to go to a shop for re-anodizing anyway. Steele Rubber makes repro fuzzies for this application IIRC.
Note: there is also a special B85 molding for post cars.
