Shell and Frame seperation

It's probably already been mentioned but I am trying to seperate the body from the frame of a 1970 cutlass, and was wondering if anyone can tell me the exact location of the bolts i need to remove?

The locations of the body mounts are in the Chassis service manual. Check wild about cars for a freebee download, or even better by one on ebay (worth it just for the schematics!) but virtually everything you need to know is right in there....

Did you saw off the two at the core support already?

Just look for the obvious access holes in the frame- usually 1 or 2 to twist off at the very front, at the bottom of the firewall.

Then snap off the two around the front seat area.

Farther back is probably just pads w/o bolts.

Then break off the cage nuts on the two at the very back.

Might need to destroy a couple at the front of the trunk also.

Or, if you are in Cajun Country, maybe bolts just unscrew for you there.

Per this ad here, there are up to 10 with bolts and 2 pads

Just pulled a 71 Cutlass frame yesterday. Eight bolts total, 2 at fire wall with 1inch square nut, rest of bolts have caged nuts. 2 bolts mid section under door, 2 bolts behind rear wheel and 2 bolts at very end of frame. Texas car so all bolts came out using 3/8 drive rachet! Frame bolts use a 5/8 socket.

body mount bolts

66400:
Sounds you are bragging about only needing a 3/8 ratchet set to remove yours, all of my bolts from an Ohio car twisted off or spun in their cages and required surgery to remove! LOL!

It's the luck of the draw, sometimes it's easier than others. Some of our rusty cars down here with rusted out trunk or floorboards will give me a workout.
