repop 70 S grills

I have been wondering for sometime why they repop the supreme and 442 grill but why is there not a repop S grill? Not everybody is restoring a supreme or 442. Seems there are alot of S cars being restored and not that many N.O.S. grills out there if you can afford them. Just thinking out loud about this.

I've wondered the same thing. I guess the restoration market has more demand for Supremes and 442s. The lower Cutlass models just don't get no respect (wonder if Rodney Dangerfield ever drove a Cutlass S)!

Dang, don't you people know ANYTHING? Everybody knows the only Oldsmobiles worth fooling with are 442s! So we're only gonna make reproduction stuff for those- the money cars!

Tongue in cheek as that may be, it's about the truth. Most of the repop manufacturers figure the high-rollers are not going to do anything with a "lesser" car and go for where they think the money will be- and in the Barrett-Jackson-tainted old car world we live in, that means musclecars.

But yeah, a lotta guys can no longer play in those circles because of the money involved, so they're going for the S and similar cars, and there's a vast untapped market if the repop guys will only see it.

You oughta try finding anything for a big car. Except for a few scripts and rubber pieces, reproduction does not exist for those.

Haha, yes they have.
Another funny thing is, a 442 and an f-85 are both worth the same amount in scrap steel as any other GM heap from the last 40 years.

I think the whole deal is that Brian and Joe have a big stash of the OEM grills hidden out and only sell off a pair once or twice a year to keep the prices up. I am still trying to figure out how much of the funds are being paid out to the repro parts houses to keep them from making new ones. LOL only kidding guys
