Removing Body Questions?

Here is a question for you guys who have removed the body from the Chassis. I have all the tools required to remove my body. It is at my shop right now. I have built a body rotisserie to mount the body to and my shop has a 5 Ton hoist over head to lift the body. My question is I would like to leave the doors, glass and as much as I can still on the body but will I risk damaging the body if I leave all that extra weight installed? Hope to hear from you guys soon. I hope to pull this off this weekend.

if youre doing a convertible, i'd leave the doors on, but gut them of glass & regulators.

if your doing a hardtop, then i'd strip the body of anything bolted to it.

I am doing a hard top. I would rather leave them attached but if I do have to removed them for sake of the weight, do I need to weld cross members to keep the car from flexing on me?

I'd be more worried about the car flexing and cracking glass. Don't know if it will be a problem, just a thought.

Good point. What kind of cross members will I have to have in place before i lift the body off if I have doors and glass removed. Or should I leave doors attached for support. Kind of lost on this one. Want to make sure I do not destroy this car beyond repair because of my ignorances.
